Oh no, looks like Sturridge might not be available. Or is Rodgers trying out his new smokescreen?

Reds to check on Sturridge fitness
28th Feb 2013

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Liverpool will assess the fitness of Daniel Sturridge over the next 48 hours to determine whether he can face Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The striker has a slight knock and may be a doubt for the trip to the DW Stadium, though Rodgers has an otherwise fully-fit squad to select from apart from Fabio Borini and Martin Kelly.

The boss told his pre-match press conference: "Everyone is fine.

"Daniel has had a little knock, but we'll assess the in the next day or so and we'll see how he is for the weekend.

"Apart from that, everyone is good."

Lets hope Studge is fit.

Will be a difficult game. Wigan looks to have hit some form.

When is the last time we beat Wigan at their ground? Feels like ages.

07/08 season - solitary goal by Yossi.

Pretty amazing that we haven't beaten them at their place since then. Crazy really, seeing as they're always flirting with relegation. Hopefully with our form against teams in the lower half of the table this season (well, except Villa), we'll be able to right a few wrongs in the past seasons.

So in a way beating them on Saturday would be a sign of progress.

Bib-theory line up:

Reina, Enrique, Agger, Carra, Johnson, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Downing, Coutinho, Suarez.

By the time we've finished tearing these tippy-tappy wannabees to shreds in our biggest away win in a decade, everyone at that club, throughout the town and all the way down their grotty little pier will wish Wigan had stuck to rubgy league.

I was about to write those exact words. Exact. Spooky. Great minds etc.

It's funny how we've become a one man band in a weird sort of way, when he plays, it gives us so many more options and we play a different style of attacking football. All the manc's at work retort to my ribbing them about robin the rapist and being a one man band by saying we are aswell, lol, they're right, not that they understand what the fuck they're going on about.

Watch out for that Kone fellow he's been on fire since his return from the african nations..
