For someone who was once a 50p head, he's won and cleared everything of late, the lad is a fucking rock.

He's been a monster today Mark. I'm not his biggest fan but he's been excellent for ages.

He had the 50p changed for five 10p coins instead.

HA, I thought their player dived on one, this has got another fuckin draw written all over it, get shelvey on!

A few months ago i would have happily sold him , he just never convinced he wasn't going to do something daft at any moment. But he's back playing like he was just after he signed so fair fucks .

Still happier Agger is fit ...such a good player when fit .

Both are doing well , so much so that nobody has even mentioned carragher for a few weeks now .

Skrtel has been quietly excellent all season.

Well put. I rate him highly.

Martin Skrtel a colossus once again 6 out of 7 successful headed clearances. He also made 8 out of 10 successful clearances overall.

100% tackles won
63% Ground Duels won
75% Aerial Duels won

Confirmed beast.

At least I think so, never quite sure how to interpret these stats. Clean sheet is a stat I can understand though.

Skrtel is a good defender and strong as an ox. Good to see him getting some praise his partnership with Agger has finally come to fruition and they are both improving.

Thank fuck Carra got injured so that Skrtel and Agger could finally play together as a partnership for a few games.

That's nice.

According to Dreamy, Coates should be playing ahead of him because he doesn't win enough headers.

Oh, and he gives the ball away too often and makes too many mistakes.

Ignore this stats above people, Dreamy knows best.

Skrtel hasn't put a foot wrong and has been beastly of late. His partnership with Agger is rock solid and improving with each game. Long may it continue.

He's been great and I've been really impressed with him.

One of the few positives to take from this season is the emergence of the Skrtel - Agger partnership. There were a lot of doubts about their ability to play without Carra and I think they're proving that they can.

Now we just have to see whether it can weather a patch of bad form.

Never understood some of the crap Skrtel gets. He's not a world beater, but he's hardly terrible.

A solid player.
[/quote]

He got stick because he was, at times, a liability. Now he's getting praise for playing well. No conspiracy here.

Skrtel always plays better alongside Agger than he does with Carra. I do love Carra, obv, but perhaps it doesn't always benefit everyone's game when he's shouting at them non-stop throughout the game

...whom one or two on here ridiculously imagined they had to criticise in order to stick up for Agger, which meant OTT criticism quite a lot of the time.

Still, he has looked happier this season, possibly because of playing right-side rather than left-side CB. That possibly shouldn't matter, but sometimes it does - even Sami was less impressive when he played the occasional game at right-side CB.
