SIX SERIOUS BIDS FOR LFC

Status
Not open for further replies.
As many as six potential investors may have submitted bids for Liverpool. Three of them are thought to be Kenny Huang, the Rhone Group and the Syrian-led consortium of Yahya Kirdi. The board will name a preferred bidder by the end of next week.

Meanwhile, RBS have issued a statement to wire services denying that they have held talks with any bidder for the club which would include Kenny Huang who is reported to have claimed that he had started direct discussions with the bank.

One view is that the current owners would like to play all these bidders off against each other. The next television contract and the growth of broadand and the potential for streaming every game live across different platforms promises to boost revenues and increase Liverpool's value. So a lot depends on RBS putting pressure on the club to do a deal.

A Far Eastern bid would make a lot of sense. Liverpool first developed links there with their shirt sponsorship with Hitachi in 1979. Their latest sponsor is Standard Chartered, a bank whose greatest market penetration is in Asia.

The real market that Liverpool have yet to penetrate is China with its 1.3 billion people. The latest televsion deal by the Premier League with WinTV will mean that at least one match is screened every week in China free to air. With the right connections there is potential for Liverpool to become the most followed club in China.

Do not like the sound of that, we now then find ourselves at the mercy of the Texans even still! It's strikes me if they manage to engineer the deal as they would like ie with a tidy profit foe themselves then they will leave behind a financially crippled club.

Crippled to pay for their own greed.

I find it very unusual to find myself praying for a Chelsea fan to help us out and get rid of them cunts.... It is such a mess.

Didn't Huang himself say somewhere that he faces some "very serious" competition from a Middle East rival bidder?

H & G hands are pretty tied though, as RBS can agree a deal if it's in the best interest for Liverpool.

If it's up to the board the two cuntos are outnumbered there, so I think we're finally seeing the end game here.

More a case of if it's in the best interests of the bank.

Probably, but Hester has said they're fed up with the whole saga. They want it resolved asap. They haven't seen any intent from the owners to sell up, with their ridiculous asking price, and can now take matters in to their own hands. And no there won't 9 points docked off or administration.

That could however happen in Ocotber if they pull the rug from under our feet.

Regarding the 6 bids, at least 2 are bs. I'm guessing Rhone Group and Khirdi. Both have connections to Hicks and Gillett.

Rumours about Steinbrenner (US) and Abu Dhabi being two other.

Mate, anyone with any credibility has said specifically that there is only one bid.

Abu Dhabi is the ticket. Liverpool can benefit from half sibling rivalry as ours strives to out spend City's.

And Steinbrenner died about 3 weeks ago.

In fairness George Steinbrenner does have two sons, Hank and Hal.

If Hank took over I can guarantee you that people would miss Hicks and Gillette

Are the sons also involved with the Yankees?
[/quote]

Yeah, they own the Yankees now that George is dead. Hank has had some junior vice president role or something along those lines for a while, he managed to make a fool out of himself in a short space of time by making too many comments in the media.

There is an expectation that they might sell the Yankees because neither of them want to be fully into it and it would net them around 3 billion if they were to sell the YES network and other associated Yankee companies.

Hank Steinbrenner is alive as far as I know.

haha great.

That would be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. He's got no money of his own and he is a bigger idiot than the SOS poster boy Hicks.

Thats very true. We'd miss H&G if he got his claws in us. Probably bs anyway.
Was on a City forum just now, and they're saying, wait for it, that if this takeover goes through we're going to ruin football.

The wealth of Huangs backers is beyond imagination though, makes the City owners look like small fish.

Shhh, RAWK are saying it as are SoS, so it MUST be true.

How can you possibly make the Abu Dhabi lot look small time?

Don't they have 40 odd billion to play with?

The BBC don't have any credibility ? I thought they only delivered news they were sure is 100% accurate.

This is what they discussed on 5live;

How the peoples finances who Huang is representing "easily dwarfs that of Sheikh Mansour's" & how it "makes them look relatively poor."

Explaining where the vast wealth comes from.

Speaking about transfers for this window & why it is important to get it concluded asap.

Speaking about having the stadium built within a maximum of two years.

Speaking about the debt levels & whats been offered to Barcap.

Speaking about what needs to happen & how easy it is to finally force H&G out - through a board vote.

A bit of history of these fellas that was really interesting.

Probabilities of happening

I doubt it. They're very sensitive about the way they're perceived in the media and how the money they're throwing about "is ruining the game", so I imagine it'll have been tongue in cheek.

Who are the people that Huang is fronting and what is their history?

So who are these backers and where does the money come from?

I'd rather we operated with a proper business model than a rich mans play thing.

That said, a shiny new stadium would be nice.

The cycle is repeating itself.

2007 - we need rid of Moores, we need a billionaire to really invest in us. Oh we have two, and the newspapers are say they'll heavily invest ...... we're sorted. Here come all the stars and we'll win titles for years.

2010 - We need rid of the two billionaires, we need fantastically wealthy new owners with some dodgy deal maker acting as a puppet. The newspapers are saying they'll invest heavily ..... and on and on and on

In 2012 we won't be able to rely on new owners to back us, we'll have to stand on our own two feet and run things cleverly.
