my opinion of aqua and ming were they are good players but you can't trust them in the middle of the park and they lose their effectiveness when utilised in a wide position.

So in what way are they good then?
You talk a lot of nonsense mate.

What he's trying to say Paul, is that they don't have the right physique to play in central midfield because you need to be big and athletic which is what they are but that's hardly relevant because it doesn't really matter what kind of physique you have. The main point is that they won't help you to win possession away from home because they tend to keep the ball and not give it away which really prevents them from winning it back.

personally i thought aqua had the perfect physique for a DM

The crossed eyes also facilitate pinpoint tackling

he'll swoop on the ball like a hawk

My two cents worth if anyone gives a shiiiiiiit.

I wanted Young over Downing, I didn't overly rate Downing and felt other's we're settling and trying to convince themselves we got the better player. However I think both have settled well, Young even more so obviously. He was great in the demolition of Arsenal as was the entire united team. They attack with pace and Young is now buzzing with confidence linking up with the best player in the league (Rooney).

Downing has really impressed me too. I wasn't expecting to like him as much as I do. His effort off the crossbar (Sunderland) would have been a goal of the month contender and his volley against Bolton displayed excellent technique. The team as a whole didn't overly perform against Stoke and Spurs so I won't label too much criticism at his door. He has forged his way onto the England team and had a nice assist for them recently. He will be a good player for us. Young wanted united, we got Downing, we have to deal with it. I wanted Mata over Downing too obviously, he didn't want to come here either did he?
Now I would be all for scouring Europe for a better option and I still think there probably was someone out there (Carzola) but Downing is the last of our problems at the mo.

One of our problems is that Henderson isn't ready to make an impact on our games. Kuyt needs to play until Henderson gains that extra bit of confidence to express himself for us. Carroll is another problem, we don't line up to suit him and why is he never in the fucking box. Another problem is our CM, Adam is an indulgent jerk at times. He was afforded this luxury at Blackpool but he's isn't the big fish in the small pond anymore. Skrtel at RB in the last too games didn't help either.

We can put the last two games behind us with a win at home to Wolves and hopefully build momentum. I hope Kenny plays a formation that benefits the 11 he put's out. I didn't like how we we're set up against Spurs. We seemed to be very narrow and allowed Spurs acres of space down the wings and they have the fire power out there to hurt us. Also we couldn't get near Modric or Parker who look a fantastic partnership already.

We need to go back to basics just like we finished off last season and go from there. That might mean Henderson and Carroll on the bench because to be honest neither are impacting the games at the mo.

Yup - I just hope Kenny can do this despite the massive money we've put into both players.

Some good points there mate.

I got lazy and started to summarise but I'll add more tomorrow. It's not all doom and gloom we just need a few tweaks to our formation to yield a better return on our investments.

I don't fully agree with what you say about Skrtel, who was fine at RB before the general meltdown at Tottenham.

Excellent post otherwise.
