Saving players heading for relegation

Modo

So who do you think is good enough from the teams destined for relegation?

It's far from finished but 3 of the following will most likely be relegated.

Norwich:
Martin Olsson, 25 years old - As a back up left fullback. Quick and offensive. Could improve his defending and is a bit injury prone. He's also black and Swedish, that's a plus.

Crystal Palace:
Mile Jedinak, 29 years old - Defensive midfielder, decent back up for Lucas imo. Short term solution but what a season he's had. Strong, intelligent, workhorse. Averages 3.5 interceptions per game. Highest in the league according to whoscored.com.

West Brom:
Saido Berahino, 20 years old - Back up striker. Could become a decent striker. Good finisher, good technique, works hard and can play on both flanks as well. Has only scored 4 goals this season though. Saw him at the Hawthorns when they played Arsenal and he impressed me a lot.

Sunderland:
No one. Not even Borini. Sorry Fabs.
Edit: What was I thinking...Borini will be a good impact player for us.

Cardiff:
Steven Caulker, 22 years old - CB, possible starter. Strong, intelligent, great in the air. Fee wouldn't be too high.

Fulham:
Dan Burn, 21 years old - who apparently was one the best players in the championship this season. Was recalled by Fulham and helped them get a point against Man U. Very tall defender, strong in the air. Might have a bright future if we steal him from them.
Edit, he was shit against Chelsea though. All three goals were more or less his fault.

Lucas is the back up...if we start buying somone because he can be a good back up to lucas, we are doomed.

Good idea for a thread Modo.

I've always thought Billy Jones was a useful attacking full-back (played well for Hodgson at left-back) who'd improve with experience, having seen him a few times when he made the breakthrough at Crewe.

He'd certainly be a starter for us at the moment if he was at Anfield.

Yeah I think he's decent. Was sitting close to the sidelines at the hawthorns when they played Arsenal and kept an eye on him.
He was good that day, but he can be very average at times. I personally think he's a better option than Flanagan. Also he's very versatile.
I remember him being a mercurial talent on football manager. First thing I did was steal him from Crewe.

Damien Duff and access to the fountain of youth

I'd be interested in Claudio Yacob if West Brom went down, I think I mentioned him before because of his stats for the first half of the season.

Top 3 tacklers in the league and success rate up until January:
Lucas Leiva - 115 - 73%
Claudio Yacob - 102 - 83%
Morgan Schneiderlin - 100 - 73%

Impossible. Lucas?
Anyone but Lucas.

Caulker keeps getting mentioned. Is he actually any good or is he still dining out on hype from when he was younger?

I can't think of anyone I particularly want from those teams. The young 'starlets' will cost far more than they're worth (see: Berahino) and the rest are generally old cloggers or decent but not quite decent enough pros.

Schneiderlin's a good shout, the best all-round footballer of the three of them and the only one who's any use in or near the opposition penalty area. Yacob's a bit of a thug who's never far away from a booking or worse. As for Lucas, it's all been said on here about a multigazillion times before.

Very good player but maybe getting on now (good squad player perhaps) is Snodgrass at Norwich. He's 26.
