Has to be my favourite meal of the week, I love it.
Mon - Fri it's just some porridge with honey/jam or whatever else is quick and easy. It's plain & a little boring but time is a factor and it is better/healthier than most other options so I go with it. On the weekend when things are more relaxed I always get in good ingredients and take some time to make a lovely breakfast. I can sit down and eat it in peace too, knowing I don't have to fight the traffic going to work.
This morning I had two grilled hickory rashers, fried 4 mushrooms (whole) and 4 tomatoes (halved) in a little olive oil with some sea salt & ground pepper, two slices of sourdough toast (drizzled with a little olive oil) and three scrambled eggs with a little butter and some creme fresh. A tall glass of cold OJ & a mug of Bewleys coffee (the real stuff). Heaven.
Anyone else make an effort for breakfast on the weekend? If so, what do you make?
