No indeed quite clean cut, and does not look like the bottom pinching type at all - sorry bad Turkish generalisation slur there *although they all do apparently

We are all getting excited without seeing him play in the team yet! Hope we are not set for a huge disappointment.

Thats the spirit Y1, nice to see you back to your usual cheery self. Hope in your heart and all that.

*frowny face*

OK, Neymar then. My point is you don't have to watch a player play in a red shirt to know whether he is going to be a good acquisition or not. Example, many people were sing the praises of Joe Allen and he looks good so far. I realise there's always going to be a Morientes factor but a former league winning captain and German footballer of the year doesn't seem to be that. I think Y1 is being a bit of negative ninny. Again !

Won't hear me arguing. I can't wait to see him play for us because he'll smash it

I have had some hope dashed too often last season. I was not sure of Joe Allen but kudos to him and Rodgers, we have a good one going there. That is why I choose not to believe until I see it with my own eyes that Sahin is not injured still or may has lost something during his recovery so much so he is now surplus to Real Madrid, at least for this year.

It's bullshit though isn't it?

Say Madrid want to sell him, they ask us first, we say... ok, what's the price - offer 20m, then Citeh offer 30 and that's the end of our special deal.

I thought first refusal means they set a price for a player and if we meet it, he is sold. If we refuse to meet it, then it becomes an auction. So if they set a price of 20 million and we accept, City's 30 million are irrelevant.

But could they ask for 100 million?
Or are they bound not to accept offers lower than that after?

I thought it was a case of City offering 30 million, then us having to match it.

There is no definitive answer to what first refusal is.

Hence why I doubt it ever really exists in a contract, not in that wording anyway.

Would first refusal be Madrid not disclosing the player is for sale to anyone but us, then we buy/knock back?
