When will enough be enough? I'd rather have the yanks here for 5 more years than Benitez for another season
I would guess that its simply a case of the owners hoping that Barca whip Madrid in La Liga, and that Real come knocking in the summer for Rafa - mutual termination of contract, thanks very much.

"Lost the dressing room" is a much overused phrase, but there HAS to be something wrong if you fail to raise your team twice in quick succession against such inferior opposition..... however, as big a concern must be the fact that the squad cant get themselves together and come up with better personal perfomances
Quite so Grjt. 210minutes against a team near the Relegation zone in a lower league with no manager, who havnt won in 8 games, and not kept a clean sheet in 6. And we manage 4 shots on target, and one goal (if you assume gerrard was going for goal in the first game) it's fucking appalling.

For 20 minutes in the second half yesterday we played exactly the kind of football I want us to. Quick, fast, incisive, direct, then we get to the edge of the box and just turn to shit. We have NO attacking options, and that lies solely with the gaffer.
Agreed, but it almost makes it worse that we show glimpses of how were supposed to be playing!

Its some sort of footballing equivalent of the perfect storm at Anfield at the moment - players with no confidence and who seemingly lack the motivation to grind their way out of a poor run, a leader who seems to be the absolute antithesis of a man-manager, and owners who run the club on the basis of some squinted view of a business model.

I am slightly hungover, depressed and reliving the Houllier years - slightly guilty that Ive abandoned support for a man ive chanted the name of time and time again, and extolled the virtues of endlessly

Benitez shouldn't be sacked. He should resign.
I wouldn't hold your breath he's too stubborn . But he should resign.

That sums things up well. Apart from the hungover bit. Mine's more than slight.
Its ok Grjt I forgive you. It's not your fault the hope is fading. I so wanted to believe this year. It's all gone to cunt.

Re: sack the cunt.

If he were to resign it'd be ideal. If he won't I'm tempted to say sack him anyway and deal with the legal stuff later on.
I can't see things getting any better with him around.

Re: sack the cunt.

I would very genuinely consider the option of Dalglish for the rest of the season.

I'm well aware of the pitfalls in that, but I would give him the job nonetheless, and then get Capello or Mourinho *shudder* in the/ at the end of the summer

That's how bad it's getting though. I'm that disheartened that I'd actually take Mourinho as an option. And I can't stand the man.

Re: sack the cunt.

At least you could imagine Mourninho thrashing cups around and shouting at players after a game like that, I am not sure what Rafa's reaction in the dressing room would be, I think he would just look bad tempered and not a lot else.
It's like when we score, he does not react at all, he just keeps on scribbling notes, that's not normal.

Re: sack the cunt.

I swear when we're getting beat Rafa gives himself lines as punishment instead of giving the players the rollicking they deserve.
I hate him Vlad. I've finally and totally given up. Although I've not liked him, his attitude, tactics etc for years I've thought the players believed in him and that he had signed enough players to win it in spite of his bullshit tactics and rainmanesque substitutions. I don't think they believe in him at all anymore. I think they hate him nearly as much as I do.

You're right. But I can't be arsed changing it. That would require a little bit of effort on my part you see and it's really too cold and it really doesn't matter to me that much as I'll still pick up a nice pay check at the end of the month.........

*shakes head*

Whoa ! For a minute there I dreamt I was a Liverpool player

Re: sack the cunt.

We cant carry on like that.
Its time to say good bye to Rafa and move on.
Enough is enough.

Dalglish untill end of the season and take these next months to lure Mourinho from Inter.
Kenny D. could boost the morale, would go back to basics and get us fourth.
He can hardly make worse than Rafa

*puts a fatherly arm around Andy*

It's not you fault old lad, you knew all his short-comings , it's just that you wanted to believe, for all the right reasons.
I have said many times he has some good attributes, sadly the ones that let him down are the ones that really matter. He is not a bad man, he loves the club and is genuinely trying his best, unfortunately being stubborn, or not listening to people, not learning from mistakes and not being a people-person have been the issues.

Re: sack the cunt.

Does anyone actually know how much it would cost usd to sack Rafa.

Whelan ( who really is a cunt) said on radio this morning that it would cost £20mill

Those figures are all just an estimation. Only Benitez and the management will know what it will take.

Fact is though if they really want rid they can do so, and chances are a mutual agreement will be reached. I doubt Benitez will want to be put on gardening leave for the next 5 years

Re: sack the cunt.

some of you are being completely kneejerk surprise surprise

We should stick with Benitez for a number of reasons not least there aren't any better candidates. when things go wrong the manager is a massive target but he is the one who has to put a brave face on things and try and solve the problems both short term and long term. A lot of managers wouldn't last 5 minutes at Liverpool and a period of sacking a manager every 6 months when we can't afford it like Chelsea is just going to destroy us

Re: sack the cunt.

Kneejerk my arse. We've been beaten 12 times this season. TWELVE. And if you included shitty draws the picture is worse. We're in a slump and have been all season. Injuries aside Bentiez cannot motivate or get the best out the players he has in the team. Time for him to go.

I don't think its knee jerk. If i was told Rafa would be in his 6th season and we would be dumped out of every competition we were in before the end of January i would have thought he would be out of a job.

yeah right and then you'll be calling for the next guy in the hot seat, who will be a worse manager than Benitez, to go when things go wrong not least the financial constraints which are a major hamper. Any new manager would want a long contract and security so you'd have to have a lot of confidence in the board to actually get the right man and be able to work with him because believe it or not it can get a lot worse

Re: sack the cunt.

I believe Keegan is available if you want swashbuckling football displays......

Has Rafa dreamt all this up to get a huge payoff and his job at Madrid? At times last night, Waterboy looked like the player everyone dreamed he'd be, then Babel came on and ruined it.

Lets hope he goes on a brilliant run, and secures 4th. What a cunt.

there is no doubt this season is a disaster but Benitez is still a top manager and any other cunt we appoint could be a lot worse, just remember that or try and think logically beyond the kneejerk crap the so called experts bleat

Re: sack the cunt.

No rebel I won't and I haven't up to this point with Benitez. He's had enough time. It's clear he can't get the best out of what he has. I wanted him to succeed and I always believe he does what he believes is best for the club. But he's failed. So he should go. I want the Yanks out too. They can all fuck off for all I care.

Re: sack the cunt.

AND you're making an assumption our next manager will be worse than Benitez. You're not a clairvoyant. And I don't need to be to see the way were playing and subsequents is/are shite.

you should be careful what you wish for, Benitez has proven to be a top class and experienced manager and should be given the patience and time to fix the problems over the long term. So who do you want to come in? someone like Curbishley? who do you think they will appoint? do you actually think they can succeed and do better?
