Its an interesting game to bring up tbh and backs up the point i was making, generally Euro 96 is looked back on fondly where England done well and gave a good account of themselves, if England lose that penalty shoot out to Spain or lose in during normal time then it takes on a completely different slant, it basically would have been seen as a big failure, win 1 penalty shoot out or get 1 bit of luck and it can massively change the perception of things, win 2 or 3 shoot outs and get a few decisions go your way in a few different tournaments and things would look so different.
