Rodgers

I've still completely lost faith in Rodgers long term, and still think he should get the sack regardless this Summer.

We're picking up points against weak opposition using a set up that fits talented players into unconventional roles. And we had our greatest success under Rodgers playing the exact opposite style of what he preaches.

"We had the greatest success under Rodgers playing the exact opposite style of what he preaches?" You mean, quick, high pressing attacking football? He said he liked the Barca blueprint of tika-taka, we have played like that at times, other times we've snotted sides with more ferocity than many sides I can remember in recent memory. Hardly the exact opposite. What are you going on about?

Counter attacking play and possession retaining tiki taka are not remotely the same thing.

I love how all the Rodgers fans become vocal after a run of easy games.

Have you no conviction you bunch of soft cunts?
Im fucking unwavering me you fucking pretend young bench pressing Irish potato eating fucking tayto cheese and onion loving Lionel Hutz wannabe cunt.

I'd be surprised if Rodgers wasn't set a firm target of CL qualification for this season. For me the question whether he should be sacked if we don't achieve that would depend on how far short we fell. If we only just failed to reach that standard, I don't think he should lose his job while, if we ended up a long way short, it would have to be considered IMO. I've no idea whether FSG would see it that way though.

If I were Bossman owner I'd be cutting the Manager gimp a little slack, especially as I sold his best player from under him and hired medical staff so shit that they managed to fuck the next best player up even more than he did himself.

Then I'd have a word with myself about appointing a CEO who failed to re-hire my club captain and talisman.

In fact I'd take myself outside and slap myself repeatedly for being a minted but ultimately dull cunt.

The bit about the medical staff - fair enough. Not buying the Suarez point as he was determined to go anyway. Ayre doesn't look like a good appointment, but not IMHO for the reason you suggest - I very much doubt he was given a totally free hand over Stevie, who would have been little more than a horrendously expensive impact sub if he had stayed on.

Let's see where we are come May. If it's all Leicster, and West Ham style results, he will be gone.

But if he's turned the ship around, etc. and we are almost there, he should be allowed to build on this year's signings.

We can still make the CL, but we don't have any room for a stumble. It has to be last season's grinding out of results.

I don't fault him for taking a while to get the truth on Gerrard in DM. The man is a walking legend. He had to give unlimited patience. Eras don't end easily.

So another game and another promising display to continue our run. Though I guess we just got lucky or something and Rodgers should still go, based on a blip of a couple of months, sandwiched within a spell of some brilliant football over the last 2 years.

Our defense looked much more solid tonight. I can't really think a decent chance Chelsea had apart from the penalty.
And we had 2 great chances to score, one took a great save to stop it.
