Again, how's it a put down???

I'm directly answering your questions. To me, you're reading into things that aren't there. Sorry, if you feel that you're being bullied.

Like I said, it wasn't you. I thought it was someone else. Want a hint. scroll further up.

People still blinded by last season's second finish and they are hoping that BR will the special one to do some magic. Neither he should have been sacked during Christmas and nor he should be taken to the head with the current performance. He is just winning what is supposed to be won even with this suad and even when Studge is missing. So we need to calm down.

I will still wait till the end of the season before I judge him. I want him to mastermind one cup win and finish at least 5th. Then he would still be the right manager to lead our club forward. Anything other that and we need some change. By change I mean, not sacking him directly but a change like
1. Appointing a sport director
2. FSG asking him questions to get a defense coach

By one cup win, I mean, any cup is fine. Even the Carling cup. That is also not easy, given that we have Chelsea and possibly Spurs to overcome. And there are others like FA Cup, Europa too. The only reason I want him to win some cup in this season is because I want him to gain experience of facing that final at Wembley (or any other important stadium) with a club like Liverpool. All this is just that he keeps growing, because he clearly has potential but so did the Bojan guy.

Is that a fact? No, that's your opinion.

When did I say that I, quote "couldn't wait for Rodgers to fail"?
Yes I wanted Rodgers gone by the Christmas and despite our little run against beatable teams, it hasn't changed.
The fact that we barely got passed a League 2 team and drew against Leicester shows that we're still very fragile.
We're still out of the CL aren't we? We're still not 4th? Arsenal, Southampton and Man U are all look pretty strong.

Yeah Sturridge has been monumental this season....I was talking about his back ups. So I'm still in the green.
The feeling I'm getting is that we're pinning all our hopes on Sturridge, who hasn't played since September.
I don't see us getting passed Chelsea. I think we're in for a reality check when we play them.

Finally I was talking about this summers signings. My opinion is that Lallana (for £25m), Moreno, Manquillo, Lambert, Lovren and Balotelli aren't convincing. That's a clear majority. Sure, I've got time for Moreno and Manquillo due to their age, but still.
You've never directly said it (and I can't be bothered to go look), but you clearly have too high of an expectation or deliberately missing the point on a whole host of discussions.

Yes, we're out of the CL (we really didn't deserve to be in it) but so? It's baby steps, look how Man Utd when they were in their prime struggle with the competition. Look at Man City and with the resources they have they should be coasting it. Same with Chelsea and Arsenal. It's a tough competition and we were nowhere near ready this season. Rodgers said it (and some here lamented him for it) at the beginning of the season - we're re-building again, with a different set of players. Players that are new to this level of competition.

No one could've predicted the level of Sturridges injuries this season, he's never been out this long. Anyone that says so is basing it on hindsight. Mario is a big let down, his effectiveness is worse than his premiership history and he wasn't a Rodgers selection. Nor was keeping Borini and Lambert was clearly a 3rd or 4th choice. So you maybe 'green' on the outcome but it shouldn't be blamed on Rodgers in the first place.

As for your opinion of the signings; I believe you're wrong. So we have to agree to disagree.

This is how I feel - last season was a freak, totally out of the blue. Expectation went crazy on the fans and it took it's toil on the players (Coutinho, Henderson, Ming etc) and manager. Our style of play was so based on Suarez, losing him meant we needed something new. So coupled with a lot of new players to bed in to a new style of play, sustained injuries to one of our superstars the start we made wasn't so unexpected.

To me it's a place in Europe, a trophy and signs the team has a level of consistency in that it has a few styles of play (so we're not so reliant on one or two players).

Like I said he is a good coach but poor signings, this is a list of all the players he has brought in.

The only top signings are Sturridge and Coutinho.

A couple of players on there have looked better in the last 5 games, however that hardly makes them top signings.

An element in the transfer committee's actions could be that they've been so dazzled by Rodgers' coaching reputation that they feel he can mould all kinds of misfits into fine players, culminating with Mario.

Aye it had that feel. Every man meets his mountain at some point.

It doesn't make them failures either, yet you've already decided that he's only made two good signings.

The agendas in this thread sum up how fickle fans are within two pages. When we win it's lucky, when we lose it's the norm, last season was down to Suarez.. The fact some prats were saying he should go, back as early as Sept/Oct, says as much about the mentality of the modern fan. Like those who are applauding him, now being accused of "singing when we're winning".

Yep, early signs are Moreno, Markovic, Can will be very good signings.
Lallana is a very good signing already.
Sakho is proving his worth and is starting to look like he can be a great defender for us.

The jury is still out on Manquillo and Lovren.
Balotelli shouldnt have happened.

Our summer transfer dealings were very good. Imagine if Remy was signed instead of Balotelli.

So to sum up. Only one signing looks like a mistake from last summer? Balo?

And maybe Dodgy Louvren?

Five or six others look either good or great for the future.

I like that success ratio.

Still think Lovren will come good aswell. Some time on the bench could see that he hasnt "made it" yet and needs to work hard.

I never said I wanted him sacked I think he is a good coach.

From that list there are only 2 proven signings. I hope the others come good, especially moreno, he shows flashes of brilliance.

Wenger over the last 8 years has signed lots of young players with tons of potential and it has hardly been successful. Well if u call finishing in the top 4 every year successful the n I guess you will think otherwise.

Sorry @ Rosco - don't want you to feel like I'm bullying you.

Well, I generally support Rodgers, but I have to say I have trouble finding a good explanation how we ended up with 3 strikers out of 4 who are absolutely not suitable to Rodger's system or style of football. All of them Rodgers' own signings.

To be fair, I think Borini suits the system - he's just not good enough.

Lambert wasn't supposed to fit the system - he's the alternative option.

Balotelli, I'll give you, but he has the skill set to make him have an impact - whether that's coaching or mentality is the question.

Lallana being a good player doesn't mean it was a good idea to spend £25m on him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunity_cost

Balotelli, Lambert, Lallana, and Lovren, that's where we fucked up this summer. £65m spent yielding about (IMO) £15m in value. And £49m of it was at Rodgers' bidding.

If we don't get CL (still very unlikely), it'll be because we didn't spend that money better.

Its MR Rodgers you fucking pillocks.
And hes the fucking mack.

And about 16 of those signings are either ok, good, getting there or still young enough to possibly be great in the future.

There is only a couple like Assaidi who have been an abject failure.

Patience is a virtue your modern fan just doesnt have, its always NOW instant, youre brilliant or youre a failure.

Well FUCK that. I think the memory of some of you is fucking ridiculous. We came from almost extinction to a bottom of the table side to a mid table side to a hairs bredth from the title. From Poulsen, Carroll, Downing, Joe Cole, Konchesky, Jovanovic to Sturridge, Coutinho, Sterling, Can, Lallana, Allen, Markovic, Moreno.....mostly still fucking kids and still on the up and up after a hopeless start when we lost 100m worth of striking talent for the season.
I really dont know why we have to go over it again and again. We werent the finished article on Saturday same as we werent shit when we were struggling.
Like all teams that cant go out and spend 30m per player we are a work in progress and still fighting on 4 fronts. We can still get 4th or better and still win trophies. And if we dont, that doesnt make us shit. Its a step.
We'll get there. Mr Rodgers will get us there if only we have faith.

I wouldn't. He was clearly imposed on Rodgers. Agree otherwise.
