Reina - 7 - such as pity we can't call his long throws 'assists' - that 'd be two in a week.
Johnson - 5 - not his best day. He should have been terrorising there left back ... and didn't.
Agger - 6 - Did what he had to do but did the game not pass him by ? He didn't seem to involve himself as much as usual.
Carragher - 6 - solid is unexceptional.
Skrtel - 7 - excellent start to the season after making a full recovery.
Gerrard - 6 - involved but virtually nothing went right for him. Everything was just over-hit or just too short, or ....... you get the picture.
Lucas - 6- boring if solid in MF. Really doesn't add anything to our attacking play.
Poulsen - 6 - I'm not as negative as most others on here. He seems to always try to take the game forward and tries some adventurous passing whilst still being solid in MF. I think once he adjusts to the pace of the game here more of those passes will come off and he will be a decent player for us.
Torres - 7 - not his best game overall, but an excellent mach winning goal.
Jovanovic - 4 - I was really disappointed. I like Jova but after 'resting' in midweek due to not yet being fit, I expected a big game from him today .... and he completely failed to deliver.
Kuyt - 6.5 - Was having a real 'Meh' of a game until he scooped that pass to Torres for the winner. That whole move was beautifully played.
Maxi - 5 - did absolutely zero of note when he came on.
Babel - N/A
Hodgson - 6 - sub #1 was early (54th min ?) thank goodness but he should have brought on Pacheco as we were dire in the creative column. Couldn't do much else but put out that team due to availability / injuries, although I would have expected him to get the team to show more heart than they did in the first 45.
WBA came and passed the ball around whilst doing well to close us down whenever we had possession. A good performance but I didn't once have the feeling they were going to score, even when they had chances.
