Rafa wants to sign Reina

The worst thing would be having him on the bench earning 5m+.

A loan isn't ideal but it's better.

He's another guy we overpaid at the wrong time, so moving him was never going to be easy.

Not happy with a loan, we always get bummed on those in the loan run. But he is on mega wages so it makes sense on that front.
Rafa should be helping us out here the fucker, buy him rafa, you've got the cash.

Yeah Rafa. Buy him and we throw in this nice sofa free.

Saving 110k a week will give us an extra 5m to spend.
So although that saving and a fee of any size is preferable, nothing would be worse than paying him to sit on the bench

No surprise that he's leaving. He's been a great keeper for us but underperformed for the last 3 years. Almost rock bottom in the gk stats table isnt worthy of 110k a week.
A loan move isnt the best solution but saving over 5 mill in wages is better than having him on the bench.
He'll move to either Barca or Napoli next year.

Think we'll be positively surprised by Mignolet this season.

Reina is getting the Xabi treatment.

He didnt underperform, that implies he could have done more than he did - which I don't agree with. Keepers like him who rely on agility don't get better as they hit 30 - the ones that can carry on are the taller leaner ones usually.

He was still very good - he just wasn't amazing like in the past (when most didn't really appreciate just how fucking great he was)

He's the best I've ever seen play for us but he was at his peak when he arrived.

He has underperformed Ross. Just look at mistakes that has resulted in goals or some of the shots he's conceded.
For the last 6 months now he's looked slimmer and fitter which has resulted in some much better performances.

He hasnt gotten the credit he deserves though, he's been a great keeper for us - one of the best in fact.
But last season highlighted that its time to move on.

A year older, and with a year less on his contract, it doesn't point to us getting a decent fee for him next summer should he leave permanently.

People can dress it up whatever way they want but i'm disappointed with this deal. Thought we could get at least 8-10m for Reina this summer.

Dunno. I know he's on big wages and players on big wages are tough to get rid of him but it's hardly impossible ffs.

Well not many clubs do pay that sort of money to goalkeepers.

The majority of the ones that might dont need a goalkeeper
