It wouldn't be, unless a contractual agreement exists that they would give such info.in writing, which is a silly idea. Even if Rafa is consulting his lawyers, someone's got the legal bit of this rumour round his neck a tad. It could be a matter of constructive dismissal or some such but, even if Rafa proved that, he probably won't get a vast amount out of it if he walks straight into another job.

I think keni's on to something with his suggestion of a ploy to get Rafa to leave.

Broughton has said he think we will be sold in months. Short term appointment I guess, and thats a good thing.

I've seen worse. Have you clocked that Becky Mantin who does the national weather after News at Ten? Pretty girl, but more often than not her hair looks like an Army assault course.

'A matter of months' means nothing. In fact, almost all his answers mean nothing. He didn't say the club wouldn't sell Torres or Gerrard - he said they 'didn't need to sell them to pay off the debt'. It was also pretty clear that there is no buyer ready in waiting: they're pursuing all the rich guys who previously expressed an interest.

Maybe it's just pessimism on my part, but I got a very bad feeling, watching that interview.

Yeah, it is all a bit chilling right now. we've went from a family club to the Adam's family. I'd fucking line them all up against a wall and start from scratch.

Purslow said that he would have investment in place before Easter (remember that) and if I recall correctly he may have even specified Easter 2010.

I cannot bring myself to be optimistic in terms of a quick change of owership depite public assurances by Broughton.


It is begginning to look like it will be a straight fight between DB and myself for the SCM "Optimist of the Year" Award 2010. :-\

Haha, under-appreciated.

I have to agree with Bunnyman... there was absolutely no chance of him giving anything away, he is very well spoken and his answers were well thought out. To a point, it's actually nice to see some real professionalism on display from the club, but it's impossible to get a warm feeling of "everything is going to be okay" from that.

broughton answers meant bugger all.

even if not a single person came forward with a bid for the club - he wouldn't say

even if liverpool were about to sell torres tomorrow - he wouldn't say

even if rafa had handed in his resignation the day before - he wouldn't say

even if the club weren't going to give rafa or the new manager a single penny - he wouldn't say

so the interview was pretty much a waste of time because the chairman isn't going to give any any information on the club tv station
 
Seems like SOS got all of their questions answered so

1.What was the motivation for your appointment? Who appointed you? What is your role and your objectives?
2.Who is running the Club on a day to day basis?
3.What role did the Club’s bankers play in the sale decision and what conditions have they placed upon a sale relating to time and any terms?
4.What criteria, other than the asking price, will you apply in accepting any bid?
5.What are the immediate implications for the team on the pitch and the urgent squad strengthening called for by the playing staff?
6.Would you speak to supporters’ representatives about a stake being taken in the Club by them? If not, why not?
7.Would you broker meetings between the Union and any serious prospective purchasers PRIOR to any sale being confirmed (we would appreciate the need for discretion).
 
So until we can get bought we are in fact a very ripe selling club. We do not have to sell obviously,only because our chairman says so, but 85M in debt repayments since 2007 and a massive increase in debt this year mean that in fact even if we do sell our two?three best players the current board will not, CAN NOT, guarantee that the money is released for players.

We are according to that picture not very far removed from being an epic Leeds like failure.

It is time somebody sought out and did some actual harm to messrs Hicks and Gillett.
