Pre Match Pre Match - Spurs (H) - Coca Cola Cup Semi - Thursday 20:00

Brizzle

Deposed match thread starter

Expecting reasonably strong team here. Let’s get Arne to a final.

Kelleher

Bradley
Konate
Virgil
Tsimikas

Gravy
Macca
Szobo

Salah
Diaz
Gakpo

I’d rest Robbo until Everton. No need to rest anyone else given the rotation we can do for Plymouth (rotation that Everton can’t afford to do much of in their FA Cup fixture)

Considering we have Plymouth on Sunday of next weekend, I think Lethal Brizzle has the line up spot on.

Then strong for Everton and almost best XI against Wolves, see who we need to give minutes to in that game as we have a week off till City.

Like I’ve said elsewhere, we need to look at games in 3 game blocks. Look who we need to keep sharp and also those we need to get sharp.

Kelleher will be the domestic cup keeper. Until we get to the FA Cup semi.

Worth noting that if we get to the final our game with Villa moves to the midweek between Wolves & City

I'd happily rest Ali for a cup match. A couple of his saves today could easily be considered as match winners.
It's a chance for a final. Why risk it and play Kelleher? Especially with the Plymouth game a few days later. Unless Jaros will be in goal for that one.

He’s really fucking good.
He is good and normally I wouldn't mind, but we play on a Thursday, that's a 4 day rest and we play Plymouth 3 days later.
So in this case I feel like the natural choice is Alisson and we send Kelleher down south.

I have zero doubt whatsoever that Slot will go full strength and make suitable changes for Plymouth. It's then a week to Everton with everyone rested.

So I expect the same team as vs. Bournemouth.

Playing Kelleher isn't a big risk. He's good, and it might prove worthwhile if it goes to penalties.

Beyond that, I don't think we will see big changes. Maybe Nunez in up front. Ideally not.

Part of thought that these days its almost contractually guaranteed to back up keepers that they do the cups.

I think we should destroy them. Seriously rip them up. I don't normally suggest an absolute rogering of the opposition, but I think this will be.
