This experiment with Trent looks great when we're coasting but in tighter games, he doesn't offer options in the wide areas, and is often out of position when we lose the ball. Today, he wandered upfield, lost Lookman where Hendo would normally be, and then jogged back casually while Lookman continued to score a goal.

Defensive masterclass by Rodgers. The tactician, knew he had it in him.

Shame he can only bring it out once a season, and the Leicester will revert to type this weekend when they lose.

The team really ... don't think Hendo is what he was 18 months ago ... Ox is not good enough ... Keita/THiago can't stay healthy ... Bobby isn't a top performer anymore ... mane seems to just not be good enough, and it hurts to write that ... the team needs refreshing and strengthening so we're not proper screwed when Klopp retires.

I blame covid we’d have thrashed Leeds then done these paper clapping twats over then done the chavs said no one ever.

Alisson - 5 I think he should have done better with the goal

The Greek - 7.5 probably our best player

Matip - 7 did well

VvD - 6 couple of dodgy moments but OK

TAA - 5 at fault for not tracking lookman and some bad crosses

Hendo - 6 needed him to calm us down after the pen miss. Seemed to go opposite direction.

Ox - 3 anonymous

Fabs - 6 pretty solid, ran out of puff

Salah - 4 off day and a pen miss

Jota 3 - some bad misses

Mane 2 - needs to go to the afcon to get some confidence that miss was woeful.

Subs

Keita - 4 didn't have an impact, but didn't get injured. Bonus point for that

Milner - 5 looked better than Keita.. marginally

Bobby - 4 didn't do much when he came on.

Klopp 2 - he's got to wear this one. We were devoid of creativity. Why not Jones instead of Milner? Oh and don't fucking moan about fixtures again.

If Salah had scored in the first half it would have been 4-0.

Anyway, league title gone. You can't convince me that we'll get back in it.
City have a much easier schedule than we do in the spring. They might drop 6 points, but we're definitely not going win every game.

Finally Matip easily man of the match.

The Greek was good - but slowed our play down far too often. We had a lot of really good breaks down the left which - if it were Robbo - would have seen more dangerous opportunities created. Wasted touches etc - much like most of the team.

Can't believe the league is over and it's not even January ...

so depressing ...

Thiago would have been useful in this game. He would have had so much time and space with the ball.

We got to take perspective as well as hard as it is to take after a loss, we were never gonna be able to keep up with City over the course of the season....they're far too good too strong with the depth needed.

41 points after 19 games is still very good going.

That's just about spot on. At least it's what I saw too.

Mane is more than a concern now. Mark was having a pop a couple of weeks ago because I was calling it as it is - fact is the call was right. Mane has been shite for not weeks but months. He has the odd sublime moment but more often than not he loses us possession with his passing or his lack of technical skills and he's costing us goals.

He should probably have had a couple today, one was a near cert., add on Mo's double miss and Schmeichel's superb save - and we should have won this based on goal scoring opportunities. Frustrating.

I don't think there is any need of title talk being over. Chelsea and Liverpool are still right in it. Things might change in a range of just 2 to 3 games. It is just about whether Chelsea and us can be in touching distance.

I’ve been calling it since last season.

No chance. City scored 6 past that shower 48 hours ago. We were basically full strength and rested. We then turned up knowing what was expected and turned out the most gutless performance of the season.

Klopp ripped into the team is the post-match interview; said we basically deserved to lose because our decision-making in the final third was poor and we couldn't stay calm. Says he doesn't care about the gap to City, because if we keep playing like that, it's irrelevant anyway – the performance level has to improve first.
