I think he's an annoying cunt Mark, but he's our annoying cunt I guess.

It wasn't a penalty.

He frustrated me loads yesterday, over-elaborating when there were players to square it to, but he was still dangerous, I just want to see more end product. His goals record of late is excellent, but it just seems shite though because he fucks up so many chances.

Well, maybe I need to watch it again too.

From what I saw, Suarez pokes the ball away from Evans who then clips his foot, Suarez then makes a massive meal of it and looks like he's taken a dive, meaning the ref didn't give it.

At the other end Johnson jumps in from behind, on a ball he's unlikely to ever win. He gives a little nudge and sticks his leg round, and from the ref's point of view it looks like a foul. The fairness or unfairness can be debated until the cows come home, but it was undeniably naive from him.

Like I say, maybe I need to watch it again, but that was my reading of it

When I first saw it I thought it was a dive. The tackle on Sterling a few seconds later though looked a nailed on pen to me. Nobody seems to be talking about that incident strangely

I think - amazingly - Scholes got the ball. But perhaps I need to see it again

The United penalty is a classic United situation. He feels a contact and tumbles. You can see he tries to make contact himself with the left foot also. We have seen it before and we will see it again. Cheating it is called, but as long as noone cares....

It was a penalty. Suarez made contact with ball first and Evans caught his leg. I can see why he doesnt give it mind cause its nearly impossible for him to see.

The Utd penalty is a shocker. Minimum of contact and Valencia was already on his way down. When even the Utd fans are saying he dived and Neville backs it up it, you know its extremely soft.

As one of the commentators said a big strong lad like Valencia falling over with that slight touch of Johnsons hand on his back, give me a fucking break.

People with a lot more knowledge of the game than you said it was a penalty. They even went out of their way to show us the video evidence as to why it was a penalty. You obviously chose not to watch it.

Suarez was fouled in the box. It was a penalty. His theatrics didnt help. Valencia was clipped also. Penalty.

Let's just agree to disagree. Either the penalty should be awarded, or not given. The inconsistency of the referee is laughable.

This. This is the problem I have. If the referee is going to award penalties as soft as the one did award, then it should be reciprocated at the other end. However if he was of the opinion that Suarez and Agger dived, he should have booked them, and booked Valencia for doing the same thing. I'm not annoyed at Suarez not getting the penalties so much. It's the fact that Valencia got awarded an even softer one that galls me.

handshake!

The latter point is the most annoying one isn't it ? I don't know what you do to put that right though

Valencia wasnt clipped though, but Valencias theatrics and Johnson putting his hand on his back results in a penalty.

I agree though that its either both or none of them. Same with red card, which should have been given to Evans aswell.
Thats the most annoying part. Halsey was poor but every call went against us, a 50/50 poor ref and the result would have been different.

Ah well, onwards and upwards eh.

Sunny: short of getting our manager to behave like that bellowing, hypocritical oaf Ferguson and put pressure on officials at the game and through the media, I don't think there's anything that *can* be done.

The depressing thing is the thought that, if that was the kind of refereeing we got at HOME, god knows how shit it's going to be at OT.

I don't know what you do to put that right though

I think that discussion has been done to death, don't think fifa will approve anything which suggest video evidence. (injustice to the lesser leagues as well)

I'm not mad at Halsey, but I just can't accept this comedy on the day when we cried out for Justice.

I'm fuming at the hopeless cunt.
