is Rodgers keeping Sterlings powder dry or what? Coutinho played alright, looked his best we were well in control and getting cocky but he doesn't have enough influence at the moment.

It was one of those nights yet we came out on top

I'm not happy with how that game ended. Pretty pissed off at some of the players tbh.
Don't think Brendan is particularly happy with what he saw either.
If we turn up like that against Spurs our title bid is well and truly over.

I don't buy the "a win is a win" rhetoric.

Can't be happy with that performance, but this makes up for it:

P W D L GD PTS
Chelsea 31 21 6 4 39 69
Liverpool 31 21 5 5 45 68
Man City 29 21 3 5 52 66
Arsenal 31 19 6 6 19 63

We were in cruise control for much of the game and found it difficult to up it when we were forced onto the back foot. Loads of people were ball greedy cunts at 2-0 looking for a goal rather than the best option: mostly Suarez. And when, in the name of all that is holy, is Ming going to learn to play the ball without giving people heat palpitations?

I'm a pessimistic cunt and looking at the Chelsea fixture list doesn't help me.
Bar Liverpool I can't see them dropping points.
It's a ridiculously easy run in.

He has his faults in that area, but he also has his centrebacks to thank as well, who often contrive to pass him the ball (like today) when they're under pressure, hence transferring the pressure to him.

Everyone keeps saying that.

It doesn't matter.

Chelsea can win all their games.

If we win all our games, & City don't, we win the league.

That's what matters. Finishing above Chelsea is in our hands.

Finishing above city isn't.

Yet.

winning games is not rhetoric

I know all that but I can't believe any team can win their last 14 games in this league.

Has it ever happened before?
Binny????

Yes - but we have no wiggle room. For me if we win the last 7 we win the league. If we lose 1 we get 3rd at best. Don't lose, but draw one and we may get 2nd. I think we can probably get 3rd with 3 or even 4 poor results. I wish we had Chelsea's defence - even if that means John Terry.

It certainly does. I took screenshots early in the season when we were top. I hope to do it again soon.

For Sunderland - Ki is a neat player, have seen him quite a few times for them this season, on loan from Swansea. Very mobile, good height, good passer. If we weren't already so stacked in midfield - considering the current team and players we're still bringing through - I'd not have minded us taking a look at him.

That was not easy to watch, but fuck it we're second in the league one point of top that's as good as result as beating united, roll on Sunday I'l take the same performance with the same result.

It doesn't really matter tbh. If we beat them we're 2 clear, so can draw one and still finish ahead on goal difference. If we drop any more points than that then City would almost certainly finish above us anyway.

But, yeah, it does mean we have to beat them, so from that point of view it's tough. But then I guess most of us were already resigned to having to beat them anyway...

Looks like 13 might be the current season-ending winning streak in the Premier League era. This is from October 2012 but is probably still valid:

Most wins in a row
Arsenal won 14 games on the trot after winning the final 13 games of the 2001/02 season and the first game of the next season.

Arsenal in 01/02 to win the league. I think.

I know their 14 game run is the longest in PL history, but it might have extended a game into the next season. Wikipedia says it finished in August 02 anyways.

Anyone got a vid of the rodgers interview?

We were boss at times but Suarez and Sturridge took the piss too much. I thought they were the problem as much as the answer tonight. Should have passed to each other for tap ins more than once

Wooooo, come on....
Second in league, 7 wins in a row...5 points ahead of fourth place.....we're immense. Lets just enjoy this run in.
