Post Madness - Norwich

And here's the proof...

I think the insanity is probably covered off better in the match thread. Neither team have very good defenders or goalkeepers, so it was no shock that there was plenty of goals. But it was superbly entertaining for lots of the right and wrong reasons.

Mignolet (5) given no help whatsoever by a chaotic defence, but saved nothing and conceded 4.

Sakho (3) Yawn. Another cult favourite with many fans. And another who is simp,y fucking rubbish. Terrible in the air and looks like a disaster in waiting. We don't usually have to wait long.

Toure (5) he was average individually, but he shouldn't be on the pitch really, and it's awful to think he's one of our better defenders at the moment.

Clyne (6) industrious as ever, deserves better around him

Moreno (3) retarded penalty and some challenges that bordered on dangerously stupid

Lucas (6) made some decent challenges, and also tried to be more adventurous in his passing, but he's too easily bypassed in the Premiership and shouldn't be in the starting XI

Henderson (6) still doesn't look fit to me, seemed rather tentative at times, but took his goal nicely before going off

Can (5) he was always involved, but he was careless in possession at times and overall it was ordinary

Ibe (6) surprised he came off, as he did pretty well and was a threat from out wide

Milner (6) nice goal and some nice passing and use of the ball, versatility was a bonus

Firmino (8) two goals and a pleasing, hardworking display

Subs: Lallana (8) transformed the game with his movement and running, the cross for the Firmino goal was decent, and his mishit winner was very deserved.

Sakho's a fucking liability and has been all along...despite his being a really, really nice guy and all that.

Yep. I think being a nice guy should not mean weput up with shit like thatfor years....as we have done in the case of Lucas. We need to get more ruthless.

@Fabio - get your point re: Lallana, but when our team struggles to score, it's problematic if only 1 of our front 3 can contribute with goals ... If he's gonna start producting more (goals/assists) now, he should be an automatic starter until we upgrade.

Sakho played really well before his injury, and headed very well, too. There was a European game where he bossed it all. You lot are far too forgetful in your rush to over-generalise. That's not to say he's good enough, but there's no need for over-editing the evidence.

Hoping he gets back to that standard quickly as he has been pretty dire since returning. But yes, how quickly we forget.

While I admit missing periods of the game - Naismith's goal really annoyed me as we were so soft, I saw the first 30+ minutes of each half, and thought Milner was very poor.

Milner did start poorly, but early in the second half he started to lead by example and was chasing everything, forcing mistakes and trying to get the rest of the team fired up, he did well after that playing some good stuff and getting the goal. He had a good game.

With sakho there has been evidence (last season) that when given an injury free run in the team, he has some great qualities.

Just right now he looks half fit, really doubt he would near the first team had our other options not also been injured.

Yeh, I don't think playing along side Kolo really helps him, I can't wait for Lovren to be back as I think we'll start to see Sakho play much closer to his true level alongside him, even moreso when Skrtel returns.

Apparently there's only been four 5-4 scorelines in the premiership and Norwich have been in two of them, lost both.

Very impressed with the effort from Firminio right until the end of the game, he was running and running closing their defence down. Compared to him Benteke was a disgrace aimlessy wandering about the pitch, putting his teamates under pressure with pointless flicks and failing to make runs into space. Firminio rightly is first choice for me atm

Even so.
He's not rubbish, he's just not good enough. Consistency and being prone to injury because you don't know how to run is part of it and he should not be our first choice CB.
By the way, the way makes everyone around him nervous by looking awkward comes at a very bad time for LFC, we've been needing to calm down for 2 years now.

My biggest problem with him is, for his lauded upon passing ability, he continuously picks the wrong pass. There will be two players who are open for a pass in space, and he will play it first time to the player with two of three opposition players around him. It does my bastard head in.

I've always thought Sakho was poor. Even before his injury. Warning bells started to sound when Rodgers started that pass from the back thing. He simply could not pass or when he did/does he seemed to always either give it away or pass to someone who was marked. The amount of hospital passes he does as well has me tearing my hair out. Nope he's a 'merde sac'. Slightly classier than a 'shit bag'.

Sakho isnt poor but he needs to find his pre injury form pretty quickly.
Lucas doesnt deserve a 7 after the 2-1 goal. That was horrendous. Decent game otherwise.
Milner really grew into the game, from about 60th min he was boss.

Firmino though. Excellent again. A bit of patience while he was adapting to the league and language and then boom! Writing off players to early is a SCM trademark.

His better games are the exception to the rule though. He's a liability more often than we can afford him to be...especially given how poor the rest of the defence and goalie are.

That's simply untrue. He's had a few decent runs in the side where he's looked very solid.

The problem with Sakho is that he takes a while to find himself and during that period he's unacceptably bad.

That said I remember him being praised for his performance against Utd.

Ultimately I don't really care if he gets replaced but the idea that he's barely had a good game for us is revisionist nonsense.

I didn't say he's barely had a good game for us. He makes too many mistakes...mistakes we can't afford.

I missed the first half an hour, and admittedly I'm a bit of a Sakho fan boy, but I thought he played well bar the first goal. The 4th was a foul on him in my book. Everything else he did, he did well from what I can remember.
