You must have missed the 100+ posts or so in the match thread blaming him and the 1000+ posts every month that blames him. It call it hate because that what it is, hate.
He isn't the worst Captain we ever had. Gerrard for example was shit his last season.
Lucas is a limited player in a limited team, he's doing what he can. A better player is needed and I've no doubt Klopp sees the same things we do.

Very average player - reads the game well, but injuries have taken away his speed so often times, his mind reacts faster than his legs can and that's why you see 7 yellow cards, countless fouls etc ...
He's a great guy, loves the club but the only way he can dominate the middle is when we're dominating the upper third (i.e. Man City etc).
If the game is a physical confrontation in the middle or when we're struggling, he'll have a far tougher time and his clearly lacking physical abilities will let him down.
I think we saw in the last two games - two physical, stronger teams - were handled ok by Henderson and Can.
We need better - anyone who thinks Lucas is a 'top DM' is dreaming. He's not the reason we lost - we were shite (again) but I'll be amazed (and worried for Jurgen's long term future) if Lucas is meant to be a key contributor in the next campaign.

I can't help but think your vitriol at Lucas is a bit misdirected. I mean we all know what he is or isn't capable of and hardly need reminding on a regular basis but it's not like he picks himself into the starting eleven does he? Unless of course, you happen to think our managers draw their selections from this forum...

I can't remember that anyone here said he was world class. He isn't and never was. That said I can't spot a better DM in our squad at this stage. Sad to say maybe but I can't. He is a shoehorned solution to a problem that was never addressed since Marcher/Didi/Alonso.
