*Were so fucking ace that even when the league was stopped with 9 games to go due to pandemic, they had amassed such a record breaking lead, that it was blindingly obvious that they were champions.
I've had this internet fight before and I lost. They were always called house coats in ours but they're for women. Dressing gown is right but I get why I was wrong. Sounds like it should be the other way round

The best ones are from good hotels ... some are awesome lounging garments. Unfortunately you can't pinch them any more as they will just add them to your credit card bill after you've checked out. Usually cost US$20-30 if you want to buy one though. Which is still reasonable.

Are we saying that there is no such thing as a "dressing gown" for women, and that two ostensibly identical items are called different things depending on the gender of the individual wearing them?
They are all dressing gowns, but "house coat" is a far more boss and suave way of describing them.
Unless.....there is an actual, non-gender specific difference between a house coat and a dressing gown? Like, more pockets or the absence of a belt or something.
I'm still convinced it's just a cooler description.
Like when Snoop Dogg reinvigorated the "slipper" by calling it a "house shoe", which is what I call them now, and why I want a house coat.
Maybe there's some weird posh thing that carries over, and there's a real house coat/ smoking jacket type thing that isn't actually a dressing gown, because that's towelling and for after a bath and just before bedtime.

That's exactly it. Toweling is used for the post-shower 'bath-robes' and it can be toweling, acrylic or silk for 'house-coats'. Best to have one of both to be on the safe side. One toweling and one silk.
