Papadopoulos - is a target according to Rurikbird

I hope Coates will stay around long enough for an interviewer to say, 'Talk us through the game'. I bet he'll make it sound like an Eddie Izzard routine.

According to Echo, our interest in Papadopulos has ended, at least for now.

Their bid to sign Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos, however, is over. The Reds' interest in the Greek international has cooled after initial negotiations with the German club proved fruitless.
Liverpool rate Papadopoulos, and value him at around £12m, but Schalke's insistence on a deal worth around £20m means the deal is no longer an option, with Rodgers now set to pursue other central defensive targets. Ajax's Toby Alderweireld is a potential option.

I don't really want us to sign Alderweireld. Maybe we Adil Rami can become an option now?

N'Koulou and Mangala are two options which would be good fits IMO, no idea on how valuable/sought after they are though.

I guess one of Skrtel or Coates will stay.

Skrtel's agent has been quoted that despite interest from Napoli and Rafa he most likely won't go there as they can't afford his wages. He also stated that he's not been put on the 'for sale' list, so you could well be right.

I think that his wages will indeed prove a stumbling block should we be interested in selling him anyways.

We'll be in for Papa again. The fee will prob be 15-16 mill imho once Schalke lower their asking price.

Rami is a decent shout.

"Aaaaaaaaaaagggghhhh!" is a decent shout. "Rami' is hopeless. Slightly deaf desperate women might mishear that as "Marry me!" That would cause a hell of a lot of trouble.

That's the second time you've made me laugh today.

Please, carry on.

If Napoli sell Cavani, they can definitely afford the wages.

Arsenal are monitoring highly rated Greek defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.

Manager Arsene Wenger wants to strengthen the centre of his defence this summer and has also been trailing Swansea’s Ashley Williams.

But there has been little progress over a deal for Williams and Schalke star Papadopoulos is viewed as a potential alternative, along with Saint-Etienne teenager Kurt Zouma.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been tracking 21-year-old Papadopoulos, who has been capped 16 times by Greece.
Schalke have been publicly claiming interested clubs would have to meet the £19million buy-out clause to sign Papadopoulos.

But sources close to the player and the German club believe he could leave for £13million.

If the article was correct we'd have agreed this transfer ages ago, 13 mill sounds speculative at best.

*puts on Hanserns cloak*

Quite a lot of talk on Twitter saying we're still very interested in Papa, we've just fed information to the press, well the echo and such, that we're not interested to help our position.

Who's that from?

Tony Barrett said we're no longer interested so there could be something in that.

Llori talk has went quiet also.

Just a couple of guys who claim to be "itk" on twitter, the only reason I'm posting it in here is because i'm hoping they're right, despite the reality that they probably don't have a clue.

A source would be good but it makes me happy anyway.

Edit : Ta Hansern with your much respected sources.

Edit 2 : shite source mind

My terrible German translation from Das Bild:

Papa, where are you?
Kyriakos Papadopoulos (21) has been out for 8 months with a knee injury. There were three surgeries - and repeated setbacks. For the new season, it should finally go uphill, Papa should be fully fit again. But the mystery of the Greek-tackler is getting bigger instead ...

Papa's comeback is postponed again! What's really going on with the Schalke Greek?

After the first training camp Papa quietly jetted off to Greece - for the second time. The message from the club was: He'll be back in the squad during the Klagenfurt training camp.

This is according to BILD information but still nothing! His advisor Paul Koutsoliakos only confirms: "He'll be back in training on the 27th. "So only in time for Raul's farewell match...

What is really going on? The fans are already worried about Papa's recovery.

IMAGE probed about Papa's whereabouts. As it is, Papa is working hard every day for his comeback. Supposedly in a practice room in Athens, with his personal physiotherapist.

bla bla bla.....

The Papa mystery - possibly has something to do with the potential sale of the Greek. Several English clubs want to sign a central defender. Papa has a 22.5-million buy-out clause. A 14-million offer from Liverpool is already on the table.

---------------

A nothing story. Bullshit to be exact. Sorry for dragging this up again.
