De Gea's agility is out of this world. He has great footwork and he's always ready. Schmeichel seems to be better on the 1v1 and leadership but De Gea is better at everything else.

There was an instance in the first half yesterday where Sanchez was bearing down on goal with Smalling and a cluster of players all vying for the loose ball. De Gea looked like he was going to come out for the ball but suddenly stopped and just stood his ground. In the end Smalling managed to get the ball out. It was a great decision made in a split second under tremendous pressure. If De Gea had come he would have clattered into Sanchez and possibly conceded a penalty.

In all it's De Gea for me.
Nah, I think if De Gea still has one weakness, it's being hesitant in coming off his line. I don't think the instance you speak of was 'good decision', it's just basically what he always does, stands back round his goal.
Schmeichel was miles better at handling those situations, though being a brave 'keeper means you get embarrassed on occasions, a la God chipping over him for that goal.

Under 23s suffer a rare loss to Stoke, 3-4. They'll learn from that - Stoke featured some veritable brick shithouses, real neanderthal types who clattered our players around so much there was a mini brawl after the final whistle. Ings got two more goals, Lloyd Jones was very strong in defence, Brewster was battered from start to finish, Harry Wilson is going through one of those phases when everything almost goes right but not quite, and, sadly, Cameron Brannigan looks as if he's reached that time when he needs to move on.

Watched VanDyke on the Bournemouth Southampton game. He is calm and steady but is he worth that much £££ that was bandied around during the last window?

What I like about him is that he is always communicating with the players around him, moving them about and reminding them of their responsibilities. We really need that.

I'm actually looking forward to City- West Ham. Either City drop points or we get cameras cutting to a forlorn Moyes and disappointing east Londoners. This is a win either way.

Goalkeeper for Benevento scores a 95th minute equaliser against AC Milan to make it 2-2 and give his side their first point of the season.

Lol.

Even better when that dirty little fucking hobbit Gattuso took over Milan this week

How has a defence with Otamendi and Mangala managed to be the best defence in the league?

Surely City are due a loss in form soon.

Mangala hasn't started since Guardiola took over until today, I believe. Otamendi has gotten better since his start at City.

I think if a team like West Ham manages to get a result against them, the present air of invincibility around them should at least drop a bit. They also have the derby next week, and Mourinho is perfectly capable of getting a result against his old rival.

I think it's quite plausible that they have a dip in form in December, and the title race gets thrown wide open all over again.

I wish City had played like this against us! They just look like a bunch of lazy immigrants.

Moyes must be thinking it's his lucky day.
