Cattermole and Cana with richardson and steed out wide. Bent and Jones up front.
Top 10 i think.
Agreed, provided Bruce can get them all playing as a unit.

is cattermole better than lucas? not seen much of him, apparently he is a hard nut, but can he play?
I think he is a cracking little player ! A young Gerrard-esque type player.

I'm surprised we didn't go for him at that price.
He would have been 12m if we had went for him.

Benitez sees Lucas as his little project. I don't think he'd sign anyone who would conflict with his development.

I've said in the past I wouldn't mind Cattermole if Lucas ever did leave.

Nonsense.

You can't compare players who are playing at reserve level to those regularly playing in the Premiership. If it were true we'd be knocking back loan and transfer bids by now.

Vignal has signed for Brum.

Gregory Vignal! I had high hopes for him, once upon a time.

BERLIN, Aug 13: Hertha Berlin have changed their minds about not coming up with the cash to match Liverpool’s valuation of Andriy Voronin.

The 30-year-old Ukraine forward was outstanding last season while on loan to the German club who at one time harboured ambitions of a surprise Bundesliga title win thanks to his 11 goals in 20 games. Hertha could not find the money Liverpool wanted to buy Voronin outright however and the player returned to Anfield.

He has been regularly involved in Liverpool’s pre-season preparations – scoring a goal in last week’s friendly win over Lyn Oslo – but knows he will never command a certain starting place under manager Rafa Benitez.

Hertha coach Lucien Favre is believed to have warned his directors not to expect a similarly dramatic season without adequate attacking firepower – thus prompting a review of transfer funds. Hertha believe that Liverpool could be persuade to part with Voronin for £6m, considering the player’s age.

General manager Michael Preetz said: “It’s an issue we have to attack but that is not to say a deal is possible. We’re considering the options. If we had qualified for the Champions League we would certainly have made every effort to buy the player.â€

Voronin has indicated he would be happy to return to his single-season home in the Berlin Olympic stadium but not on loan again. Apart from his time in Liverpool, Voronin has played all his senior football in Germany. He joined Borussia Monchengladbach as a teenager then played at Mainz, Koln and Bayer Leverkusen.

Favre has other problems. He has axed Brazilian midfielder Lucio from his squad after problems in pre-season work and told the player he does not even want him training with the first-team squad ahead of a certain transfer.

Wrong thread, perhaps.

Viduka to Fulham.

Good move that by Hodgson. He's significantly better than Zamora, and is a perfect partner for Johnson.

Bobby "I should play for England" Zamora. Wish he went to Hull that time so I could have hated him even more so.

Portsmouth have completed the loan signing of Belgian midfielder Anthony Vanden Borre from Italian side Genoa

He was ace on FM, shame he's horribly shite in real life.

It´ll be interesting to follow Cana as I think he´s a very interesting player.

Didi Hamman is available. I'd have him back for a year. At leasy he'd keep possession if he played, and he'd be great to have around the place again.

I read that he rejected Notts co. I´d rather remember him for the good years than have him back I think.

Sign him up on a coaching contract but retain his playing registration. He wouldn't play many games, but he wouldn't have to for us to reap the benefit of having someone like that in and around the club again.

Yeah, he's a bit like Sami really. I'd have him on staff just for morale and general coolness.

We probably can't afford to do that though.

I think he's good buy for Fulham

I know Duff's not the player he was, but Newcastle were so fucking shit players like him, Given, Owen and now Bassong got harshly judged.
