As far as I'm concerned, if VAR was in place, we could have won at least 2 titles by now (if not 3) and had an unbeaten season to boot.
Both titles went to City. (the 3rd to United)
And in all those seasons, we had shite calls go against us at their place. So it's rich for them to be complaining about corruption. Of all people, the cheek. With their billion dollar, FFP dodging, squad.
I don't give a fuck how many people cry foul play to be honest. Hell, I don't care if fucking Michael Oliver taps one in at the Kop end on the final day, for us to win the league with the last kick. If we win it, we win it and I've already prepared my twitter response to all the crying rivals out there. I already know my action points on confirmation of a 19th league title:
First it will be a simple twitter statement looking to fish, tagging all the usual LFC haters out there:
"I am so glad VAR has finally been brought in and we've had the fairest competition we've ever had in football.
You see, Liverpool fans were right all along. In the first season VAR was brought into CL, Liverpool won the CL. In the first season VAR was brought into the Premier League, Liverpool won the Premier League. Coincidence? I think not. Liverpool were cheated out of 3 titles and finally VAR has confirmed it."
Then I will produce that "fantasy" table from a year ago or two, which stated that Liverpool had the most decisions go against them in the PL that year and lost the most points due to poor officiating.
Then I will repost the video of Gomes getting the ball against a tumbling Carrick, to give United a pen, which helped them comeback against Spurs from 2-0 down, in 2008/2009, when their arses were twitching and we had a chance to go level with them on points (with a superior GD). "If only VAR existed in 2008/9".
Then I will repost the videos of Sterling goal at the Etihad when we should have beaten City under Rodgers. A game I remember for a tremendously biased performance from Greater Manchester referee, Lee Mason."If only VAR existed in 2013/4"
Then I will repost Kompany's red card challenge on Salah from last year, when Mo would have been CLEAN through on goal. Probably add a *wondering* emoji with it with the line. "If only VAR existed in 2018/9"
Perhaps i'll add D.Silva's red card challenge against Leicester last year in their final home game which effectively won them the league. For a bit of added salt and pepper
Then I will wait.
I will wait for the inevitable Blue/Red/White/*Insert every other team's colour here* FUME. I don't know when it will come; but it will come. It will come from far and wide. From places I've never heard of. People I've never met.
And I will welcome it. I will embrace it. I will collate it all.
All that energy, all those tears, all the frustration, all the whining from rival fans.
And i will download it all onto my local C drive in a folder titled "Tears"; mind you, I might have to delete some old porn files to have enough space on my hard drive.
I will then proceed to insert my intravenous USB cable and inject all those Tears into my fucking veins.
Probably best to do it overnight, whilst I sleep.
I will then be *re-energised* for another day of trolling Twitter, Redcafe, Bluefume, Arsenalmania, Shed-end. Bitter-end. Hell, wherever the wind blows, wherever takes my fancy that day.
I will Billy-Big-Bollocks WALK my way onto their forum, with tremendous arrogance and swagger, like we had won the PL title 10 years in a row and give them a friendly, daily, reminder of who are now the Champions of England.
You see that dread, that fear that they are now all feeling "should Liverpool win it". That talk about how "Liverpool fans will never shut up about it" and how "every PL club must prevent Liverpool winning it at all costs". Some even going as far as saying that they might just have to "give up football"?
Well, I want to live up to all those fears they've had over the years. It just wouldn't be fair to them all, if we don't live up to that dread; you know their worst nightmare. It's a spiritual obligation to troll them.
And so, there will be GIFs. GIFs aplenty.
Of Jurgen's grinning nashers and over exuberant celebrations, of the boys celebrating last minute goals, of Pep going nuts on the touchline, of Sterling throwing another sissy fit, of Ole at the wheel, of Fergie in a wheelchair, of Kloppage time, of all the supposed controversial decisions that have went our way, and of course, of us celebrating lifting the PL trophy. Gwan Hendo. Do your thing boi. Dab on those haters.
wry smile
Oh, it will be delicious.
Just another 6 month to go. Over to you boys.
