Another interesting snippet is a knowledgeable Chelsea fan's opinion on CFC's transfer policy and that they won't pay the asking price of €75m for Sandro from Juve, to replace Alonso because :
Chelsea won't go that far when they chickened out of 50m for Koulibaly and 45m for Stones.

Which brings about the question of them being willing to pay £80m+ for Lukaku.

What's the issue with Alonso? Why are they trying to replace him? He had a good season

I'd guess it's more a matter of Conte wanting two quality players for every position.

Overall, strikers do tend to cost more as a general rule, but the fee disparity does seem pretty wide. Lukaku's good, but £80 mill's worth?

Agree. I liked him a lot. However he seems to be looked at as a hot/cold player and a weakness in the squad as far as starting is concerned. If they are trying to get themselves up to a position to challenge RM/Barca then they need better players in a number of positions.

Bournemouth sign Nathan Ake for 20 mill £

Thats now 30 mill £ on Begovic and Ake. Do the Bournemouth owner owe Abramovitch a favour or what..

Begovic is a solid keeper and Ake is a half decent, young defender.

The fees are in line with the rest of the market..

Begovic has been pretty shite for the last few years. He's awful.

20 mill £ for Ake, thats a lot of money.

Bournemouth are doing us a favour paying this kind of money (along with the Ibe and Smith fees last year).

£30m for Sakho doesn't look so outrageous now.

The Standard say that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that he has already begun plans to replace striker Alexandre Lacazette, who is wanted by Arsenal.

Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu.
The club have released the statement in the past few moments:"In the following days, the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu’s contract will run until 30 June 2019".

Wouldnt pay 80 mill + for a player with 2 years left on his contract, and has said he wants to leave though.

BBC saying Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee with Lyon for Lacazette, will be a club record fee.

Sanchez to leave then?

I don't see how City can accommodate Sanchez as brilliant as be is. I'm hoping he goes to Bayern.

If they're going to keep him, id imagine thats the sort of signing they woul need to be making.

not too happy with lacazette going to the gooners , i think if Sanchez were to go, he would fill those boots and then some

Sanchez is a much better player than Lacazette. If this is his replacement then they're not improving.

I would be all right with Arsenal replacing Sanchez with Lecazette. No way that would make them stronger.

Guardian says £29M rising to 33M. I like him too, but I think he's not quite in the Koulibaly/VVD bracket just yet. We were briefly linked, but didn't seem like Klopp was seriously interested.

If we don't have much of a chance of signing VVD or Koulabilily, we should be all over Rudiger, he's already good and has massive potential.

Surely Nainggolan will be the next to move from Roma. At his peak now and already 29; this is Monchi's chance to offload for a good profit before he starts to decline.

You're right, the time to cash in is now.

But with Totti's retirement, having lost Salah & and now apparently Rudiger to Chelsea, they cannot really afford to have so many key players depart in one hit.

Kostas Manolas is also 50/50 at the moment with a move to Zenit being on the cards.

Manolas is strongly tipped for Chelsea. Hope so as surely we then have a free tilt at VVD (though I still wouldn't rule out City until they have bought a new CB).

Manolas and Paredes are close to joining Zenit.

Rudiger is good but not top quality, so a bit of a surprising move from Chelsea given the links to Bonucci and VVD.
