Origi

His away performance away to Dortmund was ludicrously mature and exciting for a 20 yr old. Going to be a boss.

Drogba's French career record is interesting. In his first 4yrs (at Le Mans) he scored a total of 15 goals. Then in his first season at Guingamp he scored 3 (aged 23). The following season he scored 21 goals, then 32 goals in his solitary season at Marseille, winning him the move to Chelsea

So it took him until he was 24/25 to start hitting double figures, after looking like more of a non-scoring workhorse for the first 5yrs of his career.

I'm not sure that you can derive from that, that all workhorse type strikers will end up being as good as Drogba.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying Gerry. Or maybe I just selected him because he's another striker who's gone from Ligue 1 to a big club and initially struggled. With similar attributes - pace, strength and powerful play. They are both also alot more technically gifted than they were initially credited with.

He's going to be fit for the derby. I'd be very tempted to unleash Origi and Studge together and test the famously shaky Everton defence.

Definitely need to play wingers i reckon. Baines and Coleman like to bomb up, dealofeu doesn't like to track back.

Last was a badly sprained ankle and possible ligament damage. No broken bones.
Depends on the ligament damage but he's possibly out for the season seeing as there are only 4 weeks left.

It must've been covered loads elsewhere but that was one of the dirties tackles I've seen in a long while.

The fact he looked absolutely not bothered about it and tapping the Everton crest while walking off just made it even worse.

Really hope Origi comes back soon, he's been a real pleasure to watch in the team of late. I am not so sure anymore that we desperately need a new striker-type either.

Origi, Firmino, Sturridge and Coutinho is goals (and posters on here really seems to rate Ings as well), so perhaps I'd be at least as tempted to go for even more hard-working creativity or wing-forwards with blistering pace (and goals) instead of another striker - even if Benteke leaves.

I definitely agree that goals from the wide areas are a priority moreso than an out and out striker, someone similar to Reus.

He's got 10 goals in 32 games this season. Not bad for a kid who just turned 21 and is playing his first season in the PL.
It could maybe even do more harm then good if we bring in yet another striker with him developing at this rate.

Ings, Sturridge, Origi and Firmino. If you add Gotze and a goalscoring winger/forward then that might be enough.
The issue is obviously Sturridges fitness

Grades of Ankle Sprains

After the examination, your doctor will determine the grade of your sprain to help develop a treatment plan. Sprains are graded based on how much damage has occurred to the ligaments.

Grade 1 Sprain (Mild), 2-4 weeks

Slight stretching and microscopic tearing of the ligament fibers. Mild tenderness and swelling around the ankle

Grade 2 Sprain (Moderate), 6-8 weeks

Partial tearing of the ligament. Moderate tenderness and swelling around the ankle. If the doctor moves the ankle in certain ways, there is an abnormal looseness of the ankle joint

Grade 3 Sprain (Severe), 8+ weeks

Complete tear of the ligament. Significant tenderness and swelling around the ankleIf the doctor pulls or pushes on the ankle joint in certain movements, substantial instability occurs

Doesn't look good in any of the cases.
He's definitely gonna miss the Villarreal games, going by the recovery times mentioned above.
So best case scenario is that he returns for a potential final like Emre.

Well if it's a minor one, and you also factor in the special care that top players get these days, he still could recover a bit quicker than that suggests. Fingers crossed.

Oh pooh! On the way out from scans.

He'd probably be wrapped in cotton wool either way, but I think its pretty obvious he's going to be out for at least 6 weeks. That bitter little scrot has stolen a Europa League Semi Final and potential Final from Divock, and robbed him of his momentum just as he was starting to break out as a very good player.

This injury will set Divocks development back and could cost him a massive chance to fully establish himself on the world stage as he's potentially going to miss the Euro's if there's even moderate ligament damage. All because a shit defender, playing for a shit team, managed by a shit manager, intentionally stamped on a 20 year old striker that he couldn't handle.

This kind of shit makes me so angry, Suarez got 10 odd games for biting a player, leaving the player more bemused than anything else, Mori intentionally stamps on and potentially causes a fellow professionals career a massive set back, yet at the very worst he'll miss three games, because afterall good old fashion thuggery is fine, it's the weird biting shit we don't like.

Horror challenges need to start being treated as seriously as the Suarez incidents were, because as soon as they are, maybe we'll see them stop.

Danish mate of mine last night decided that the offender should be banned as long as the victim is out injured for. That would mean a couple of months for something like this. Can't see a Suarez bite keeping someone out long.

Yeah, I think Poulsen was one of those signings where a 5 minute Youtube clip told us everything we need to know before he signed - can't pass, can't run, can't tackle, can't shoot. Shite.

I completely agree if it's intentional or reckless, the problem unfortunately is proving intent, however in this case, and many before it, the intent was blindingly obvious.
