Is it bollocks. What about Scouse exiles like me who've lived away for most of our lives? Do we not count because our parents decided to move when we were nippers? Are we supposed to transfer our allegiance to whichever team happens to play where we fetch up?

Fox, you are a whopper if you truly believe that, and if it wasn't for OOTers this club wouldn't be one of the most profitable sporting brands in the world. Am I going to support a non-league bunch of pansies or am I going to support the most decorated team in the country who are 20 minutes down the road? Am I going to watch some Joe Bloggs in a bit of a kick about or some of the best players play in the worlds best league? Get a grip!

My dad is from liverpool and I am from manchester. I could quite easily have supported manchester united as when I reached secondary school they started winning. I didn't.

I don't see the glory hunting type point.

Exactly! Im not an OOTer, but I know plenty through uni and they all love the club so whats the point in elitism?

the term 'OTTer' is a little ambiguous anyway

what if your parents are scousers but you're born in london (for example) are you an OTTer?
what if you are born in liverpool but move from liverpool at a very young age, are you an OTTer?
what if you've lived in liverpool all your life but have moved away in recent times, are you an OTTer?

that said it is a 'little' odd if you're born and bred in london (as an example) with the choice of arsenal, chelsea, spurs etc and you choice to support liverpool.

don't be daft Fallon. I am just stating something unpopular (as per thread) which is kind of my opinion. I am a LFC fan through and though and you cannot change your club but sometimes I do wish I supported someone more local to help my kid to see more football ETC.

There is nothing wring with appreciating a top club from elsewhere if you support your local team as well but I don't and I am a hypocrite.

If you want to support PL club then support the one nearest you, I don't. Mind you living in between Reading, Southampton and Portsmouth used to get you good top flight football, not now.

Like I said you can never change who you support and I chose LFC over 30 years ago and that is that, but... it would be better for footy if people supported their local clubs more

As it happens my dad was a Gooner BTW, and my mum has never been interested in footy. Neither of them are/were Scousers.
