It's been obvious for a long time that Moreno's future lies higher up the pitch. He's never bothered to learn or implement the very basics of defending, which presumably is why the Seville fans weren't too bothered by his sale. However the goal he scored last year where he ran half the pitch displayed a rare talent. Not many players could have scored it. Moreno could go on to be a very effective player for us in the right system and the right coach and for that reason I've always been reluctant to his sale. All our other attacking midfielders are slow and prefer the central space. Moreno could provide a very useful contrast and help us open up opposition and provide the sort of service Benteke can thrive off.
Moreno was often guilty of breaking down our attacks last season with a poor final ball but he was very good yesterday. I enjoyed watching him gallop up the pitch with the ball. He was a constant menace and outlet for us.
Taking any defensive responsibility other than protecting a full back off of him is the way to go. Still haven't forgiven him for that Manc game last year.
This reminds me of the short lived period of relative success Enrique enjoyed playing left mid/wing. It's still a bit of a concern that we can't get something out of Moreno in the position for which we signed him.
Can't see him pulling a Bale but a half Bale would do
