as a replacement for Lucas I think he would be a great signing, as a replacement for Mascherano I would be a little concerned. However we still have no idea what personal/formation Hodgson has in mind for next season so its difficult to speculate what sort of players we will need, other than a left back and a striker which we have needed for about 12 months now

Is right

Yep. And he gave the peno away by clipping Stevie's back leg as he ran through (contrary to the amazing insistence by far too many on here that it wasn't a penalty).

you're talking about the gerrard dive right? 😉

And without the 'looking aggressive' bit

Do you think there is one Premiership midfielder who is worried when Lucas's name is on the teamsheet?

Other than the ones that play for us?

'Oh, no, Lucas is playing. We could be in trouble here'

He's worth a goal start in terms of morale

Bollocks. ;D Admittedly, sometimes when Stevie goes down in the area I expect to see people round the pitch holding up scorecards for artistic impression, but that was a genuine peno. Gattuso took his back leg, a VERY neat foul because it's so difficult to spot. Unfortunately for Gattuso the Spanish are almost as skilful at it as the Italians, and the ref that night was Spanish. Don't try to kid a kidder.

Does it match what I say on this website?

Past-it, overrated, beardy, useless cunt?

More or less, except for "past it", which suggests Gattuso reached a decent level once, something with which Stevie would disagree.
[/quote]

So based on Stevie G's assessment of one game, which was a miraculous (not to mention next year's show in Athens) comeback, he never reached the height of being one of the game's most feared DMs? At his prime, he was fantastic - a player no one wanted to face. He was as good, if not better, than Masch at destroying opposition attacks.

Keni - I've heard he's leaving Milan too ... Odd considering the season he just had (where he was one of their long bright spots).

Not sure about that.

Gattuso was once considered good enough to play for Rangers. Enough said.

Enough said?

There's a lot to say about your logic there.

*2

I'm fairly certain that every player in our team would be considered good enough to play for Rangers.

Read the excerpt again, Wizzy. Stevie's views are most certainly NOT based on just the one game. And if you seriously think he was "as good, if not better" than Masher you need medical attention IMHO.

Ok ... Check out what those who play with him say. Stevie has faced him how many times? Twice? Wonderful. Gattuso did it with the best in the world for 5 or so years ... Won everything there is to win in football, bar the EURO. In his prime, he was a fantastic DM. So he wasn't a great passer, and scored only 0-3 goals a year.

It is of NO coincidence that Andrea Pirlo became one of the world's best players when he had Gattuso protecting him in Ancelotti's Milan set up. Then again, Stevie said something about him - so it's gospel.

Funny how Lucas has played the full ninety minutes against both Man utd and Chelsea and won then, eh?
