Match Thread Liverpool VS Denmark

Whats not to like, hes a really really good player, genuinely 2 footed and technically excellent, scores a few and makes them like tonight, fuck it thats all i'll say before i get accused of being a Southampton lover.

Th y said on the radio earlier he was 24, I thought he was older. Bloody good player.

Fuck knows. I'm still pissed off that Rooney ruined Danny's game for 60 mins

Mental isn't it, seeing Sturridge in left back positions and sitting deep on the left when Denmark had the ball in the middle of the pitch, even in attack Rooney is there in the middle and Sturridge out wide 80% of the time, said it a few hours ago in another thread that Sturridge is the more valuable player for England, the attack should be based around him, as you basically say, its bullshit.

Even Roy just said we got better after 60mins. When Rooney went off Roy

Seriously Rooney hogs possession, slows game our passing and is generally very lazy, it's so fucking obvious that he shouldn't be starting, but Hodgson doesn't have the bollocks to drop him. His ban in the Euro's was a blessing, unfortunately our bent FA did all they could to remove that.

[article=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2574375/Jamie-Redknapp-Adam-Lallana-booked-place-plane-Brazil.html#ixzz2v8rFIsOU ]The last time England had five Liverpool players starting was in October 1977 when Ron Greenwood picked Ray Clemence, Terry McDermott, Emlyn Hughes, Ray Kennedy and Ian Callaghan.

Yet that’s not a Merseyside record: a month earlier there were six in the starting XI. Phil Neal joined the other five.

Kevin Keegan, who was part of Liverpool’s side the previous season but had moved to Hamburg, also started that game.[/article]

Fuck off Roy, I thought he said he would not play the big players?

Plays Stevie G for the full game.

In the interview before the game stevie said he wanted to play as much as possible in the game to keep himself match fit as we have no game this weekend.

With that in mind it hardly seems fair to blame Roy, no matter how much I like slagging the cunt off.

Every time I argue that you need to separate process from results a load of bellends tell me that if you win the manager must have got it right.

So all you moaning cunts should shut up and be grateful you have such an astute manager.

Our boys should have taken it as practice for the Man Utd match... Hendo, Gerrard, Sterling and Sturridge could play little triangles in midfield around Rooney and every ten minutes or so Johnson could dribble past Smalling and make a backpass .

Hmmm. I'm not answering about the latter for fear of being accused of having an agenda.

I didn't see much of the game yesterday but judging from these ratings agent Agger did an excellent job!

Jack Wilshere: 6 - Took a really heavy blow from Agger's challenge early on. It would have made Arsene Wenger wince.

Wayne Rooney: 6 - Scythed down by Agger to stop his best run all night.

The issue with last night's performance was pretty simple.

One a couple of players looked like they were trying to get on the plane. The rest seemed to be content not to draw attention to themselves to get knocked off the plane - that fucking Hodgson all over.

Shaw looked good and added to the left side when he came on, Lallana looked creative and energetic. Before that, Sterling was the only England player who looked to beat a man and step away from the conservatism that is a Roy Hodgson side.

England cannot and won't win a world cup. So why not use this tournament to give experience to the players who will be around for future competitions. That way, when we come to 2018 and 2022 we will have 26yr olds playing in their 3rd world cup with Euros on their CV too.

Sterling, Shaw, Oxlade Chamberlain and possibly Henderson to name but a few need to be on the plane ahead of the likes of Lampard and Cole. Neither will be around for the Euros in two years let alone the next World Cup so bin them now. Some will argue Gerrard is in the same boat but he is captain and performing and you need some experience.

Glad I didn't have to pay to watch it.

But attending an England game always shows where the bellends go on a Wednesday night, present company excepted!

I like Agger - The foul on Wilshire was class. Do you remember his forearm smash on Torres on his debut for the plastics? I loved that!

Hodgson played 5 Liverpool players last night, so I'm assuming he wanted England to play like Liverpool, far from it - they were slow and predictable.

Shaw should be in the squad but Hodgson likes his "oldies" and his Fulham boy Smalling apparently.

He did want them to play like Liverpool, just from when he was in charge. Fucking cunt that he is.
