Mane's form, again

Not liking the Barnes - Mané comparison

Always uncomfortable comparing current players with the giants of the yesteryears but some of the members of this squad are worthy of that comparison. Mane definitely deserves the Barnes comparison.

Salah if he continues in the same vein for two or three years will be operating in the Dalglish, Gerrard - greatest of all time space.

Van Dijk, Allison, TAA, Robertson will definitely be in contention for the best ever to have played in their positions. Or at least deserve to be compared to other greats in their position.

New narrative.

If Egypt gets beaten again by Senegal, it’s quite likely that Salah will not stay in the same club as Mane. Hope I’m not stoking any flame but you never know with these things.

Didn't mean it like that. I did not like the goalscoring comparison. Barnes played in a different role.

Mané is and always will be quality. If players aren’t at Salah’s level they’re crap to some.

I doubt international football has anything to do with club relationships. The only time I can think of it happening was jarg Ronaldo and Shrek because both are grade A cunts.

Still don't think the two like each other
I don’t like most the people I work with. That doesn’t stop me dealing with them on a professional level. We’re not asking them to go out for a coffee after work.

You'd think that, but I'm not liking the body language.

Steady on Modo. I read over the weekend that Mane asked the club not to have any presentation on the pitch or mention his triumphant AfCon title as he didn't want to impose or cause any bad feelings for Salah. The boys a humble person and this goes to show how cares about others more than himself

I think people make too much of the competition botj.

On the pitch Salah is very singular, Mane seems to be the more friendly guy but if Egypt do go out then it will be due to their crappy coach and team, nothing to do with Mane. Salah is not stupid.
I don’t team sports is driven by one off international games, they just move on.

I read that before and it's a nice gesture from Mané. So that only tells me that the problem isn't Mané.

Yes they didn't get on very well you could say

In 2008, Tommy Smith claimed in his autobiography that on 8 May 1972, Hughes told him that he had been speaking to a number of Arsenal players who were "willing to throw a match for £50 a man." Liverpool subsequently failed to win the vital match at Highbury, which allowed Derby County to snatch the title instead. Smith wrote that he was disgusted with what Hughes said and never spoke to him outside the field again. Smith maintained that the only witness was Ian Callaghan. Smith also stated that he thinks Hughes was trying to set him up and was not really trying to bribe Arsenal players.[5] Smith said he never told Shankly because it would have "broken his heart".

I'd actually never heard that story. Only that Smith was a complete cunt.

I can't be bothered to look back but remember seeing some people saying that it was time to sell Mane, do you still think we should?

I honestly don't think we should. If the club wants to save some cash get the likes of Ox off the books, I think Ox is on 100k approx. Also I think Firminos position is more under threat than Mane, to be honest. I know Firmono offers that deeper link-up play but Jota seems to be slowly doing a great job of simulating that as well and Jota gets us goals.

I feel like If you want to have a thread about anyone of the front threes form its Firmino who should have one, or maybe we've already accepted that Firminos form has dropped off massively in the last few years?

So has Mane's... Mane and the Ox has already been replaced with Jota and Diaz. And we can still get good money for Mane
