Manchester City reject Liverpool's Andy Carroll for Carlos Tevez offer

Tut tut Neets, on the back of a MOM display too.
I think the one that we need to be offloading is that next to useless Downing, Downing was only purchased to feed Carroll, and has failed to do anything , I was going to say spectacular, but nothing Downing does is spectacular.
I still think we have not had the opportunity to see what Carroll can, or can't do.
Yesterday he did everything that could be asked of him as a lone striker, he took the ball down held it up well and laid it off under significant pressure, made several good flick-ons, one of which was a great assist, worked hard was unlucky not to score, made a nuisance of himself in the box for our first. When we start playing to his strengths, give him some service and play him for more that three matches on the trot, then we can make an objective judgement.

he was alright against united, but anyone that thinks he isnt shite is an idiot. wouldnt even think about swappin him for tevez. fuck, id swap him for bent

Agree with all this.

He's definitely looked better over the last few games, he's looked fitter, sharper, his touch has been better and he's looked like he's give a toss and has used his attributes as he should, in knocking people around. Hopefully it's a start of things to come and not just a case of a few big games giving him an extra incentive.

He was very good yesterday. Looked like a solid 20m quid's worth.

I hope that becomes the new normal and isn't the full extent of his capabilities.

Fair point about Downing but is it definitely the case that he's failing Carroll? Or could it be the other way round? Or maybe they both need to go? I genuinely do not know but it they were supposed to work together then there's a good chance its only one of them who isn't working out.

I think it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. He's been robbed of service, but there's also times when he could have bust a gut and he's looked either halfarsed or not fit enough to get into positions where he should be.

Fair point about Downing Vlad, he hasn't done well enough but I don't think it's fair to say Carroll's failings are down to Downing.

Carroll did well yesterday but like I've said several times before, for me he just isn't ever going to fit in well with our style of play, I'll be relieved if we off load him.

As for Tevez, problem is as much of a beast as he is on the pitch, he's such a bitch off it

when andy is in the mood I think he is excellent. I was so impressed by him and I thought I would have to defend him after the game but fortunately most people saw what I saw.

I just don't believe this. A loan enquiry, yes, that makes sense, but trying to buy this loon and kick out Carroll? No chance. It's surely no accident that the West Ham rumours started at the same time. I suspect it's Tevez's shady agent/manager desperately trying to stir up some interest before his client is stranded without any chance to play for the rest of the season. It's lousy for Carroll after that small step forward yesterday.

Struggling to understand why people would want an utter bulb like Tevez at the club.

Apart from the fact that he's scum, a manc, a liar, just look at the shit he causes. The only way I'd like to see him here is with his head stuck on a spike on the top of the shankly gates.

I wouldn't be surprised if the idea was floated to City.

Yes, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Article in the Daily Mirror this morning saying we're still trying to get him on loan til the end of the season.

Its in a few places now but all just seem to say its a rumour. Sadly I think its unlikely but you never know.

Mancini refusing to discuss whether Tevez will still be at Man C after tomorrow on SSN.
I would say they are still trying to get rid of him, probably permanently, though if they can't do that. a loan for the rest of the season would make sense from their perspective.

Yeah it would make sense for them, but whether he would join Liverpool or any other club is another matter.

Why not? There's a couple of South Americans knocking about here, might help put his homesickness on hold to the summer, better than sitting in Manchester anyway.

Maxi, Aurelio, Lucas, Doni, Suarez, Coates, he might like that.

We could really use the end of season burst he'd give us too, I'd have faith in fourth if he joined.

First things first, we would need to make sure there's a decent Argentinian restaurant in Liverpool to keep him happy.

He's a good player, take him on a 6 month contract and see how it goes. Sure, what's the worst that could happen?

Indeed. Logically it would make good sense.

However, we are dealing with Carlos Tevez. So logic doesn't necessarily come into it does it?

The fillet Mignon wrapped in bacon and creamy peppercorn sauce sounds amazing. Shouldn't of clicked on that link, I'm starving now! There's no where near me open today and I didn't bring any lunch with me today!

Imagine Suarez & Tevez lining out at Old Trafford on 11th Feb.
[/quote]

Mancini might be thinking along those lines too.

Yup ... as Mark said, we can still do damage to his major title rivals, and to Spurs/Arsenal/Chelsea. It's a win win here for him - gets rid of a player he hates, and strengthens a team that will beat his rivals.

Yeah on paper it looks a strange one at first. When I read about it yesterday I thought it was bollocks but actually now I'm kind of warming to the idea. Win win from City. Win for Liverpool. Lose Lose to every other poor bugger we have to play (Especially Utd) - He's a horrible hateful little shit but there is no denying the ugly brute can play. Imagine the work rate between him, Suarez and Bellamy. Stick Kuyt on the wing and watch carnage ensue. Plus it would be quite funny to have three of the most hated league players all starting up front together 😛

I'd quite this to happen but think the chances it actually will are slim. I think GK Macca is right. It's probably that slimy agent of his stirring the pot. But hey what do I know. Weirder things have happened.
