They've been dominated by far shitter teams than us for long periods this season. To me, we started the game like pussies (Rodgers? Players?) and they took full advantage of it. If we'd come out with some intent, it may have been different. We can't play scared against big teams ...
I don't think yesterday showed they are miles ahead of us, I think yesterday showed we are tactically naive without the ball. As soon as we're asked to defend we're a fucking mess. That's not solely down to the players, the system is tailored for us attacking as a unit in numbers (till we get to the box, where we shit ourselves), when we lose the ball the centre backs are miles apart, the fullbacks are high up the pitch and you've got some hapless player like Lucas or Allen trying to drop in/chase back and looking fucking clueless at it.
They've got a few more top class players and significant depth but no one's seriously telling me people like Jones, Evans, De Gaer and Cleverley are a massive gulf ahead of what we've got. The difference is they've got quality in the key areas. I think if we shake the midfield up, sort out the defensive system and start playing Borini, Suarez and Sturridge together we'll see a marked improvement.
Ryan loves talking up United and Fergie, for some odd reason (while every other fan fucking loathes them), the exaggeration that they're miles better than us is just that.
