Big big big game.

They gave us a pasting last year after the league was done and lose and they can go top with their game in hand.

I’d bring Matip and Milner in but leave the rest.

You surely can’t leave Jota on the bench Klopp?

Id actually back firmino to perform to his usual standard in a match of this magnitude, I also think bringing on Jota against tired legs would obviously be a potentially big play

Firmino usually does well against City. So, I wouldn't be totally surprised to see him play.
But I wonder what's going on with him?
Is it the empty arenas? He does like to put on a show...
I've never seen him this poor since Klopp took over.

What on earth has to happen before you'd consider Bobby not starting?

Jota was immense. We turned in our best performance of the year, Bobby has, let's face it been shite, and you still want to bring him back? My days....

He is shot. He looks like he’s running in treacle.

I think it could be time to see what happens when we start Jota as part of the front 3. Maybe we dick them 5-0, and it's worth finding out if that's true or not

Klopp was adamant in the Post-match conference (in so many words) that Bobby will be starting vs. City. Basically it was horses for courses and Jota was chosen because of the openness of the Atalanta defence. Don't expect to see Jota start vs. City.

As others have said, the ability to bring on Jota against tired City legs could well be a better option for the away game at Ethiad.

Alisson
TAA Matip Gomez Robertson
Gini Hendo Jones
Salah Firmino Mane

Not sure who to pick for that final midfield spot if Thiago isnt ready to go. Milner is an option, but Jones really impressed me last night. He deserves to continue in the side.

No way Jones starts, despite having a decent game yesterday. Everyone had at least a decent game yesterday.
Maybe Klopp plays all four of them.

I would be surprised if he threw Jones back in again vs. City. Especially so if City go with two DMs as they have done recently.

Shaqiri at the point could be a good option if Thiago doesn't start. Otherwise the team you posted.

Jones wasnt decent last night, he was very good and very impressive.
But City away is another animal obviously, so it will probably be Milner or Naby.

This makes me sad.

Will be interesting to see who joins Hendo & Gini in the middle, I wouldn't be surprised to see Naby back after his game time last night. Jota should be undroppable and City also have an open defence so any logic should still stand. Wouldn't be against Jones in the middle again, he's finding some form although I suspect Naby will be asked to press Rodri to hell & back which he did excellently to Jorginho against Chelsea at the start of the season.

--------------Alisson-------------
TAA----Matip---Gomez---Robbo
---------Hendo----Gini-----------
---------------Keita----------------
Salah---------Jota----------Mane

------------------Allison------------------
Trent----Matip---Gomez-Robbo
---------------Henderson--------------
----------Shaqiri------Gini-------------
--Salah--------Firmino-----Mane

I'd rather see Jota obviously, but this could be likely.

I like to see Klopp try some thing out of the ordinary and go with Frimino playing from midfield

--------------Alisson-------------
TAA----Matip---Gomez---Robbo
---------Hendo----Gini-----------
---------------Frimino---------------
Salah---------Jota----------Mane

We know he (Bobby) can see a pass. could be our own KDB in this game

Zero chance he plays both Jota & Firmino at City.

9 of the 11 picks itself:

Alisson
Trent
Matip
Gomez
Robbo
Hendo
Gini
Salah
Mane

Between Milner/Keita for the other midfield spot. Bobby/Jota for the other forward spot.

[article]A great deal will be said and written about this game elsewhere but here’s a curious statistic: Manchester City have the Premier League’s 16th-best record in the second half of matches. Across their six second halves they are losing 6-3 (skewed, admittedly, by losing the second half of their game against Leicester 4-1) and have outscored their opponents only once (when coming back from a goal down to draw at West Ham last month). In the first half of games they have the division’s best record (adjusted to factor in the fact they have played a game fewer than most other teams), and a 6-2 aggregate lead. Last season they had the best second-half record, but were outperformed by one side – Liverpool, inevitably – in the first.
