Well I've seen him play many times and he gets bullied by big strikers and thats one of the reasons he got dropped by Ancelotti.

No - get sakho in, the potential to be world class is there. Then get papa in the winter and you have 4 good to excellent CBs. It's too important a position (see Dmish's 'spine' assessment) to miss out on stars.

I think this one will happen - either loan with option to buy or we'll buy him outright. He's got the potential to be a Coutinho like signing - young, hungry player that takes his chance.

He'll be the primary back up ... and I don't think Agger is leaving. It's more likely that it's Skrtel ...

We either cash in on Agger or play him, anything else would be borderline crazy.
But why sell Agger? If Sakho comes in, we'll still have only three senior, proven and rated centre halves (Skrtel leaving is a matter of when). We can't expect Toure to keep up his form and fitness for the entire season at age 32, or expect Agger not to be injured for the same period.

Are we not in a position where we'd rather have £20M to spend on first teamers or tomorrows stars than "use" them on a back-up?
Doesn't Agger's fitness have to be 'managed' over the course of the season due to his injury-proneness? If that is indeed the case, then I wouldn't currently be confident of any of our other centre backs being able to adequately fill in on the left of central defence.
We need at least 3 top class CBs to get through the season. There is no point discussing who is going to replace who. Look at United or Chelsea, they use all kinds of combinations.
A better question to consider is whether Sktrel will be sold if Sakho is here. If Rodgers can also bring Illori then he should be able to sell Skrtel and loan out Wisdom.
But let's sign this lad first. That would be GREAT news.
