Luis Suarez faces accusations of giving Fulham fans the middle finger after Liverpool's 1-0 loss Monday. The Reds' star attacker was leaving the field at Craven Cottage and made the gesture to a section of home supporters, according to the Daily Mirror.

Suarez was involved in several contentious moments during the game and Fulham fans were reportedly chanting "cheat" at the Uruguayan forward as he was walking off the field.

"I haven't seen the pictures and I'm not taking anybody's word for it," Reds' manager Kenny Dalglish said. "If you show me the picture and what you're saying is true, then I've got a decision to make."

Suarez could face disciplinary action from the FA (English soccer's governing body) for this incident.

The 24-year-old is already in trouble with the FA, having been formally charged with racially abusing Patrice Evra during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Oct. 15. He was charged by the FA in November and is currently organizing his defense. The 24-year-old could be slapped with a lengthy ban if convicted of abusing Evra.

Getting himself in more trouble . Fucks sake , is it really that a big deal ....the level of abuse and gestures fans give to players yet there is uproar if one gives some gesture back . Yeah, yeah i know , you have some 8 year old kid who looks up to Luis Suarez and he's a bad influence on them .

Guess he'll be banned for this ....they banned Rooney for 2 games for swearing .

Not to worry we have a 35m man to keep banging the goals in .

If your kids look up to Luis Suarez, then you're doing a shit job educating them.

This is all we need now.

He is already a villain in many people's eye so this won't go down well.
Pretty much. I wish luis would stop being a tit though. The club has enough problems without having to defend him every other week.

Players aren't robots and I can see why they react to abuse but Suarez really needs to keep his head down and stop doing things like this. He's already defending one charge. Its as if he wants to get banned!

Football fans need to man up if they're offended by that
This. I mean do they expect to go to a match, hurl abuse and receive nothing in return?

Come on, put yourself in his boots. I know he's a pro etc but he was ripped off and kicked all game. I think I would've done worse while coming off

He's going to get banned for this but it's fucking stupid.

They talk about footballers being role models to kids, but while the kids fathers sit next to them in the stand hurling all sorts of vitriolic abuse at the players, and when the player reacts - not in a malicious or way that's no more than 'unsavoury' - it's these barbaric morons in the crowd that cry victim.

It's why I respect Carragher and Alan Smith (I think) for throwing stuff back at the twats that threw it at them.

I cant understand it. The poor Fulham fans allready have the brave Evra to stand behind in their fight for this evil man!!

In his country it is customary to signal the home teams score as you go off, he didn't realize it was offensive in Europe ....

Ah come on. Stand up for the man. Grown up "tough guys" are yelling all kind of abuse to the guy and get offended by a finger? What the fuck is wrong with the community? Is this a bizzare Monthy Pyton scetch?

Here's a scenario. Actually, it's probably verging on what actually happened last night...

A load of numbskull, idiot fans shout abuse at Suarez - death threats, taunts, xenophobic slurs, comments about his wife/family etc. Yet it is Suarez who is out of order and punished for lifting a finger?

If they're worried about kids in the ground seeing it, then the FA should worry about cutting out swearing and abuse in the terraces too. Oh and bad language on the pitch. And in society. And films. And TV programmes. And music. etc etc

It's a fucking joke. Everybody needs to get over it.

Well said.

However, Dalglish still needs to remind Suarez of his responsibilities to the club (ie. not getting banned)

I got the impression from Kenny's comments that he will be pretty annoyed with Suarez if it's true.

Sadly its a joke part of the game.

Fans can give abuse for 90 minutes, yet as soon as theres a tiny response they run crying . Its pathetic

Oh and what kind of example did Clint Dempsey set last night to kids?

So for example, if Suarez does get a ban for this, let's say 3 games, if Bellamy stood there and raised a middle finger at Clint Dempsey he could have expected to see a red card?

Exactly. Where were the Fulham fans' protests about that?

In fact, if this is pursued we should make a similar protest about Dempsey.

This is not a problem inherent to football. Lots of fuckwits do the same to police and other authority figures, in fact think about the amount of times you've been in a kebab shop and you've heard some drunken twat abusing the member of staff working there.

It's a sad reflection on society

I just noticed the BBC are carrying the same picture of Suarez as I posted in this thread but they have blurred out the 'offensive' gesture .
Are we really at the stage where something like that needs to be blurred as it's so offensive ?

We live in a world were people are actively looking for things to take offence to.

It's retarded

Was it the middle finger? Cos in Uruguay it's actually a gesture of endearment.
Lucky it wasn't his pinky cos that ish would be messed up!!

Hahaha.

(But let's start cracking those jokes after Suarez has got away with it.)

Now that it's mentioned, lil luis (swoons) used to bit his thumb didn't he after scoring another wonder goal?? Lucky no montagues were in the crowd huh!!

I jest btw but seriously, I'm surprised at the abuse that Suarez gets and won't be surprised to see him be linked with a move away in the summer... Especially if we don't get champions league.
