What impresses me most is his attitude, that his enthusiasm has never flagged, even when he was "The Invisible Cunt", even when the crowd got on his back, and the fact that he continues to improve steadily. Do I think he will eventually be a "world-class footballer"? Probably not. But he is already a very capable player who is getting better as time goes on, who seems to be finding his role in the team, who has earned any applause directed his way, and who has contributed significantly to our turnaround in the second half of the season. During our abject start to the season he was no worse than any number of players on our team that were well below their previous best level. If we had a chance to force him out of the regular starting eleven because we had a more talented and better performing player joining us, I'd be overjoyed. But only because we'd be adding one heck of a player, not because Lucas was playing less.
Give the man his due.
