Using a series of 7 games to try a prove a point as if it's definitive proof! Lucas is out for the season, (and Suarez our best player bar Agger)* is also missing so lets compare our with/without Lucas stats after 20 games. He's really nowhere near as good as you think he is.

* Suarez missing should widen the gap between our points with Lucas and without Lucas BUT it won't.

I regularly take breaks from debating (rather than posting) on the FF because, rightly or wrongly, I believe that too high a percentage of people on football forums haven't a fucking clue what they're talking about and I don't need the frustration of having to correct them.

For the record, look at the 7 games without Lucas and point out to me in which ones our midfield was outplayed and Lucas could have helped in? We dominated every game bar the City match (in which we played quite well) but our failure to score goals has cost us - something Boy Wonder could not have helped with.
 
My opinion of Wonderman has changed after some of his recent top performances, but can anyone honestly say that they've watched our games and thought 'Lucas would make a difference if he was playing'?

Personally i haven't noticed our defence looking more vulnerable and going forward we look exactly the same since he's been out injured.

Jay Spearing last night - Successful passes - 50/54 - 93%, tackling success - 100%.

If Lucas had done that you and a few others would be creaming themselves. The truth is any ordinary player can become a DM if you limit the role enough like we have done.

yep, and I probably would have selected him for the n'castle game (which we won anyway).
that said henderson hasn't stepped up to the mark as I would have hoped and adam has also had a dip in form.

oncy always directs his lucas comments at me as if I didn't rate him (lucas) or didn't want him to play which is simply wrong.
