I repeat Pickford is too fucking short to be a top class keeper. Southgate should really consider changing his first choice.

Minamino in all honesty was quite poor, nothing worked for him. I think he'll look a whole lot better with better players around him. Also the tempo and toughness of the English football is something he has to get used to.

Rarely received the ball in a position to use his talent. He was open several times in the box with clever runs.

But, it will take time for all involved. Did work his ass off closing down and trying to link up.

I'm still enjoying this especially for how surprised I am. Hope we get some dead side in the next round but also think we'll get Arsenal.

Late to this thread but thought Larouci had a great game. Must have been nerve wrecking for him to come on so early. And what's this bollox about him getting the better of Walcott when he (Walcott) tired. Why was he tired? He played exactly 6 minutes longer than Larouci.

I appreciate Larouci's young and inexperienced and he certainly brought lots of energy but he was all over the place in the first half. Someone called him "black Moreno" and that wasnt far off. If Everton weren't such poor finishers and Adrian hadn't been solid the match would have been finished early, all from attacks down his side. Gomez did a lot of covering for him.

Again, not trying to be too harsh on him but he's a long ways off yet.

Hello Everyone,

Before I got to bed for a wank, I just want to say how brilliant it has been to watch these young players, both in that tin pot cup ,and the FA Cup. Am I the only one that thinks the pass and move of these youngsters is slightly faster and dare I say it faster than our senior team ? - because it looks like it to me.

Cannot understand why so many of you want to see the back of Chirivella or think he cannot make it. I thought he was brilliant in the game for us against Aston Villa, and also today, he passes and moves with accuracy and I did not see any issues with physicality etc. I think the bit that needs working with this lot is the decision making in the final third - but loved the way they pressed, and to be honest I think they exhausted the Everton first team out in the first half.

It is a shame what happened in the Aston Villa game in the other cup, because the boys played so well, but had no one up front to help them - just one senior player in that area would have helped them.

I think the hired Samurai will fit in nicely with us, he did look like he had not played for a few weeks though, but hopefully gets up to speed soon.

Agree with you on this, I saw a lot of Gomez on that side, but have to say - he got much better in the 2nd half.

Every time I see Pickford I just think, if you were a striker nearby and shouted 'Boo' at him, he'd look up and miss the ball. He never looks like he's entirely focussed. There's no way he should be England's goalkeeper.

The technical aspect of his game is horrendous.

Not to take anything away from Curtis, but Pickford should have saved that shot.

He used the wrong hand in attempting to save the shot, he should have used his right arm/hand instead - its the arm coming over the top that gives him the longest reach in that situation.

It's alarming actually - its goalkeeping basics 101 - that's something you get taught at under 10 level!

And do not even get me started on his passing/kicking technique - horrible.

I've watched that goal many times and have concluded that it's a lot better than Rooney's goal.

Here's hoping Curtis will surpass Rooney in achievements, accolades, etc.

Any ratings for this match?

Specifically, how did Chirivella, Williams and Phillips get on?

I quite like Lallana. Never going to be a star player or first team regular but he works his ass off game after game and possesses lovely technical skills (which a lot of our players do and is one of the facets that separates us from the rest of the PL). Clearly Klopp does too and Lallana obviously appreciated and enjoyed that gesture.

He may or may not leave this Summer but it wouldn't surprise me if Klopp signed him on for another season as he's proving it's worth keeping him around for just situations such as the injury predicament we are in now.
