The drawback to Kane for me isn't anything to do with cost or salary, it is that he is past his peak and we'd need to replace him in 1 or 2 seasons time. That might be ok if we are investing properly elsewhere (given we are linked to defenders, this feels like we are) then that might be a wise 'safe bet' but the reason his level looks to have 'maintained' is that he's going into a piss easy league.
