Liverpool related transfer speculation

That is probably one of the worst videos ever.
Possibly one of the very best as it illustrates everything you need to know about people on the spectrum including Harry.

I would be fucking distraught if we were to sign Kane and I'm praying its a big a bowl of bullshit as it looks moreover even though I only semi-watch the England games I still cannot for the life of me see why after numerous fucking appalling England performances in tournaments we still feel the need to pick that bag o shite

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wait wait....gotta catch my breath....ok, ok...I'm fine...

Ekitike (40-50m?), David (free), Huijsen (50m), kerkez (50m) /De Cuyper (20m), Frimpong (50m).

I'd be absolutely fucking elated with that tbf. Won't happen, but that's a fucking fine array of players

Then the year after we sort out RW and another midfielder

Kane is on £400k per week, what would be his incentive to move?
What do people think of Kerkez, Huijsen and Frimpong as new signings? Not saying it will happen but those 3 have been linked strongly

Kane's incentive would be that he wants to break Shearer's record for Premier League goals.

Kerkez: great if he definitely wants the move (seems to be some doubt about that currently). Huijsen: OK for the right fee (concerned we'd be charged more than I'd want to pay for him - there are still rough edges to his game). Frimpong: others here whose opinion I respect seem to rate him and maybe I've been unlucky, but he's one of those players who's never impressed me much when I've seen him in action.

Huijsen has 50m release clause that will no doubt be triggered by someone in the summer window, so it's a case of whether he's worth that amount to us.

Personally I feel he'll want assured playing time give the calibre of teams eyeing him up.

What if we’ve learnt from the current contract saga and told Konate he has to sign before July 1st or we will get Huijsen?

I really don't see us spending the £200+ mill required this summer.
Unless...

We also sell players for at least £100 mill.

And regarding Kane. As much as I dislike him, he'd be perfect for us, but he's not worth it. Not at 32. His wages would be astronomical as well.

Agreed on Frimpong, doesn't pass the eye test for me. He looks absolutely tiny, for a start. And he always looks like he's about to fall over. Not the classiest looking player I've ever seen.

How does he compare to previous pongs?

I really wanted Sinama Pongolle to come good and I guess he played a small part in our '05 success but yeah, bit shit on the whole.

Also… keep tuned to Australia Border Patrol, for the upcoming episode where a stupid Northern Irishman declares he’s bringing in twice as much booze as he’s allowed to and a fine collection of Tayto, bisto gravies, Belfast Brew Tea, a Yorkie Easter egg and a ceramic mug with “Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey” etched into it.

Update…

Going through customs - I had about 8.5L of booze and the limit’s 2.25L per person (so we could have squeezed 4.5L between the missus and I)… so not even close to the limit.

I declared it, expecting to pay duty, but if you declare it, you avoid a fine, etc. - so you go through the red channel and get ready to open up your cases on the bench so they can sift through everything… as per Border Partrol episodes.

The customs guy, on hearing we were in the UK asks “what team do you support?” and on hearing me say “Liverpool”, replies “in that case… straight through… on you go!!!”.

RESULT!!!!

Wish I’d grabbed a bottle of whisky from the duty free as well now… 🤣

I would love for us to splash the cash on a superstar, but I think they're are just too many positions to fill.

Kerkez for me is a must buy if he wants to come.

Huijsen, Givairio, Frimpong, J David, Stiller, Camara, Ekitike, Cherki are all players that could do a fine job for us at a very reasonable price.

Fill out the squad with 3-4 of these, then one or two marquee signings if we can still afford it.

As if.

I mean what data do you have from the FSG era (or indeed any era in our history) that gives you hope that we're gonna spend 250 million on players. Even if we sell 100 million worth?

You're going to be very disappointed.
Not that much but still substantial (usually preceded by a low spend season):

All from TransferMarkt.

2018/19 : €182m (4 players) with €41m incoming so net €141m

2023/24 : €172m (4 players) and at the end of this window we offered £111m for Caicedo (ignore the conspiracy theorists). So that would be been circa a €300+m spend with €61m incoming so net €240m ish.

We can easily imagine over €150m outgoing next Summer (Nunez, Diaz, Jota, Kelleher etc.) so a €300m spend could be on the cards. Of course I don't think that'll happen but it's not unimaginable (and I'm not BB, Moron or Bino) !
