Liverpool related transfer speculation

Yeah at that age, he either has to be a superstar in the making for us to buy him or free.
I honestly think in the right club he could be a superstar- or at least, in that understated way Robbo has been a superstar. But yes, looks unlikely.

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the top European clubs looking to add Eintracht Frankfurt's Sweden midfielder Hugo Larsson, 20, to their ranks in January. (Teamtalk)
I have seen the video clips, and he doesn't look like €30m player as thats what Transfermkt value him but a video clip really tells Sweet FA. I am not sure he is what we need, if we are going for a player with this profile I would rather we went for the remaining Timber who is a well rounded MF who can play an 8 or a 6 and has legs. @Modo you watch Bundesliga, any info?

Oh @Hansern , you're Swedish you might know a few things about this guy, any good?

I don't watch the Bundesliga enough to have an opinion on players nowadays.

But Hugo Larsson is in the Swedish national team so I've seen him play a few games, I know he's young, but he reminds me of Hendo.

Our manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson benched him for not making many "vertical passes" meaning forward in this case.

So yeah, pass.

An English Swede, then

And note that Transfermarkt usually grossly undervalues players! So what would he really sell for?!

Liverpool’s admiration for Zubimendi continues

On Wednesday morning, The Athletic‘s David Ornstein reported that La Real sporting director Roberto Olabe -a highly ‘renowned’ figure in the football industry – will leave his current post at the end of this season.

The 58-year-old was, of course, involved in the negotiatons with Liverpool over Zubimendi during the summer, and it seems that the Reds’ interest in the midfielder hasn’t gone away.

Within that article, Ornstein wrote: “Zubimendi has been targeted by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool; so far he has resisted the chance to depart the Basque side, however the admiration continues.”

Hard to see a fucking thing happening on the transfer front with these gang of clueless cunts in charge.

Same cunts that'll ruin what should be an iconic first season to remember for Arne and they're gonna fuck it all up for us.

the one's that hired Arne in the first place? That's managed a miracle first season taking over from a once in a generation manager? Come on man, give them some grace. It's not perfect, but they've done a pretty good job. They deserve a little faith.

They're a bunch of data obsessive, money pocketing shithouses. Take a shot at glory, pay a 5m compensation and get lucky.

Target or negotiate a player we need, can't fucking do it. Give contracts to the most important players to a team they'll ever see in the flesh, can't fucking do it.

Or data driven lads who have us top of the table and top of the champions league. With a manager no one ever really considered. Which they signed because they are data driven fanatics.

Who are perhaps being savvy negotiators - with agents looking to make a killing on the last contract for their clients. And maybe those delays are helping push these three lads to fantastic performances.

It isn’t worth discussing it with him - he’s too desperately focused on shiny bright things and his toddler-like sugar hit from new signings, to actually stop and think about it all.

He’s basically a junky that hasn’t been given his fix and hates everything.

Here’s the thing… anyone with half a brain would probably reach the conclusion that we’re doing so well because we haven’t significantly changed a squad that was already settled and very good - both in terms of tactics and personnel - just little tweaks to start with and then build upon it over time.

As I said in the summer, the transfer window before we won the league, we signed 2nd and 4th choice keepers, full fucking stop.
Non disruption and continuity can be a good thing.

Absolutely… but some people need their shiny new bauble fix, to the extent that it be more important to make “big signings” that to actually win things.

You're giving them far too much of the credit, they've done fuck all to back the manager and now they're refusing to keep our core players together. Sat on their arses for the last 6 months doing nothing but give each other hand jobs after seeing the team collapse for the last 3 months of the season, they can both fuck off. If we win something this season, it's inspite of them. If we don't then it's all on them.

I’m impressed at how much nonsense you’ve been able to condense in to one post.

Facts will never be known as nonsense. Spent all summer fucking about and spent the last 6 months pissing around with the extensions.

If you don’t like hearing the facts because it goes against everything you want to stand for, then just say that.

They’re not facts, they’re your feelings on the matter., which are not based on fact.

The contract situation for Virgil, Mo and Trent are inherited, that’s a fact. If yiu want to ask serious questions, then why was Trent not tied up to a long term contract 2 years ago, same with Virgil and why was Mo’s extension only 3 years, why not a 5 year deal.

On top of that guys have to be stupid enough to believe all contract negotiations are straight forward - in some cases they are, but that’s usually younger players.

“Give him what he wants” is not a good negotiation tactic - that’s also a fact.

Also… and this may have escaped you… the fact the 3 have not signed a contract has not adversely affected either individual or team performances - so it begs the question, what difference does it make if they’ve signed or not signed at this moment in time, other than to satisfy your state of mind.

If Virgil & Mo want to stay, then they’ll be in no rush to sign a pre-contract in January and if Trent’s mind is fixed on a move, then there’s nothing much we could have likely done anyway, short of offering something crazy.

The Zubimendi deal isn’t really on us - he changed his mind after indicating he was interested.

It must just kill you that things are going so well.

@StevieM - believe it or not I agree with all those point, apart from the last point because @binomial is still alive, and I need him to stay alive - he gives me lots of likes.

I have to admit out of the three the one that worries me most - that would certainly as a supporter satisfy my mind - is VVD, I just want him to sign - he is the most important player for Liverpool in my view because of his sheer presence in the team. I cannot imagine our team without VVD, I don't know why but that is the impression he has made on me since joining. Prior to him during the rough years - it was Steven Gerrard.

Sometimes when you have a new manager with a settled squad and new back room team and a new sporting director, the smart move in an inflated market is to not sign a player.

Look around you. United, Chelsea, Spurs signing brutal players for way over the odds.

For the sake of it. A few cycles like that and we’ll be back in the late 90s again.

You’d have to say their decisions look pretty good right now

Gyökeres isnt the Swedish striker we should sign. Given that Isak wont sign a new contract and could be off, he’s the one.
Would be a great fit for us I think.

I sort of agree, but isn’t he a bit injury prone?
