Firstly I'm drunk.

Secondly, thanks to Oncy for his best players thread. A great idea.

Thirdly, to the point. Whilst I accept the 'comedy' votes such as Souness as manager, some of the actual votes are surely outrageous?

McManaman, Kewell and Agger get votes ahead of Callaghan, Kennedy and Hughes?

I'm only 29 and might be being a twat here, but should people not know better? 'I never saw them' I understand for Liddell, Scott, Raisbeck, Hodgson, Stubbins, etc... but everyone can see plenty of a certain era.

What's next? Crouch ahead of Hunt? The Greek ahead of Yeats? Is it too much to expect people to learn from our previous greats?

People are quick to say 'the worst ever'. Is a defeat to say Aston Villa now worse than being at the bottom end of division 2 in the 1950's?

Please, watch some videos. Apologies to those concerned, but when people such as Vladders, Portly, and JJ talk about some moment they remember from the past, then listen!

We have a fantastic history. Is it too much to expect people to know about it or am I being a cunt? Sure, you can't say Emlyn Hughes is the best player you've ever seen, but you can with confidence say he's better than John Scales.

In Roy we trust.

To me its fun to have a go at imagining games I've never seen. Read a couple of accounts of it and just let your imagination do the rest.

I should add, I don't mind people not kwowing about the past, however don't then claim kewell is the best ever left winger etc.
