Konoplyanka (a tiny bit NSFW, sorry)

Still not worried.
It will be done by 9 o clock because he'll want to go to bed and watch Graham Norton.

This would be the 5th major deal we've failed to make in two transfer windows. Mkhitaryan, Willian, Costa, and Salah.

We've clearly been interested in all, and been involved in negotiations. I understand the necessity of not being wasteful (but then we're happy to waste good money on stupid deals like Aspas and Alberto), but if it's happening repeatedly, there's clearly an issue that needs fixing.

Hope we end up making this work.

It's maybe the second. We were only *seriously* in the running for Salah, let's be honest.

It's a tough one. We're not in the CL, and we don't have money to burn. Plus if we overpay for dross, then whomever does it will get hung from the lampposts if he doesn't deliver performances. On the other hand, he's out of contract in the summer. The issue is: everyone knows we're desperate not to leave this window empty handed. Oh and I'm glad we didn't sign Salah

The player is known to prefer to come to us. Hopefully he'll intervene in some way to make it happen.

Might not be till the summer at this rate though.

I'm not fussed. Based on his record, Ayre is only capable of bringing in the Vauxhall's and Garuda Indonesia's of the footballing world. We shouldn't ask of more from him.

I think the owners attitude to cash may be the issue.

They know he's in the last year of his contract, & will be loathe to pay more than they want or in another way than they want cos they know that fact.

It's sadly misguided when you look at the league position & cl revenue we'd get should we cement that top four place.

Have a bad feeling about this. Think it's gonna be another failure in the transfer market for us.

Amen. It would be sad if the relatively successful season we're having so far actually caused them to commit such a misjudgement.

Alexander Simme‏@alexsimme2 mins @DanKennett The "agent" Oliver Cabrera just went on live in a swedish deadlineday webcast saying the deal with Konoplyanka is dead. #LFC

haven't we said that about a few players we then lost out on ? Money talks for 99% of these lads .

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-live-yevhen-3095862#ixzz2rzoD1Nh4 ]David Maddock with the latest on Konoplyanka:

The rumours are growing ever stronger about a medical booked for 6pm at Melwood, Liverpool's training ground, but not entirely sure it could be for Konoplyanka if that is the case.

Contrary to information earlier in the day, it seems he is NOT at a training camp in Spain after all, but in Kiev, merely applying for a visa to allow him to play for his club Dnipro in their Europa League tie with Spurs.

If he were to travel from there to England for a medical, then if with a favourable tailwind, he wouldn't land until about 9.30pm...and that's assuming the plane's engines are revving as we speak.

But do not lose all hope. Our information suggests that the Liverpool party led by Ian Ayre which is currently camped in Ukraine desperately trying to thrash out a deal, includes a medical man, who if required will give the player a once over to offer some sort of medical.

Here's the thing though. NO deal has been agreed. And none is likely in the very near future. Meaning if they are to sign the winger, then it will be very late indeed.[/article]
