Ziege was unlucky IMO. Houllier played him further forward at LM against Roma on our way to the Europe League final and he was top notch, MOTM for me when we beat them over there, really carrying the fight to Roma and absolutely owning the whole left wing. Houllier than promptly dropped him, no explanation given, and he never found his way back into the side consistently. Injury may have played a part in that, but Houllier did have this way of taking against individual players when there wasn't always an obvious reason why and Ziege seemed to fall victim to that.
