I fucking hate people booing players. I genuinely can't remember anyone doing it en masse till I was about 16/17 & I'd been going for about 7 years then.

You heard the odd individual doing it but they were too told 'we don't do that'. Worth noting some of the older match goers claimed it did happen in the past though.

I don't see a problem with booing after a shit performance like on Saturday. We were gutless and devoid of fight. With that in mind, if a fan who has forked out 50 fucking quid can't voice his displeasure then that's plain wrong in my view.

I think it's quite obvious the fans have some displeasure with poor performances without resorting to booing. It achieves nowt

It achieves nothing bar making players aware their fans arent backing them.

They know they played shit, they need support when not performing, not stick.

when the team isn't doing well you can cut the tention in anfield with a knife, and that tention translates to the pitch with players scared to try anything in case they fuck up and have 40,000 people on their back.

I mean at the final whistle only. Not during the match. Bang out of order to boo and/or give abuse to any of our players during the course of the match.

I agree that tension from the stands translates to the players. It's not healthy.

Just think that those who attend should be allowed to boo should they deem the team's performance to be unacceptable. Not for the sake of it obviously.

Shouting "boo" would make me feel about 5.
It's not "boo", it's booooooooooo

I've never booed one of our own. It's pointless, it's juvenile and its not what true reds do.

It's not something i've ever done myself, but i can't/couldn't blame any supporter that does if it's deserved.

For what it's worth, i genuinely think we're as loyal and fair a set of fans as they come.

I just don't think you become any less of a fan if you decide to boo.

Did you Gary ?

Hahahahahahahaaa !

Even by his usual standard Neil has ramped up the spelling atrocities in this thread.
Not even bothering to mention the actual content.
Tention the last in a long line of 'wtf' words.

His "why does everyone always reply with 'WTF Neil blah blah blah...' instead of debating the actual points" nearly had me throwing this thing out the window.

I think it was you Oncy who once said on here that "if everyone else, and I mean everyone thinks you're wrong and is continually telling you so then you probably are". I agree with dat.

an opinion is 'right' or 'wrong' it is only an opinion.
my opinion was to take a holding midfielder who offers nothing going forwards and replace him for a midfielder who does and then gamble on the entire team to pull up the slack defensively, your opinion is our CM midfield makes no difference and all our woes are because we have shit attacking players. thanks for the news flash, ryan because we really hadn't noticed how profligate our attackers are.

The only thing I wish from you Neil is the use of some capital letters. Just even now and again... 😉

I will just say I have great respect for posters like marky, wizard, vlad (and many others) who offer up solutions rather just saying how shit everything is, that gets real old real quick. we're not blind, we can see our attackers aren't having the best of times so listing our attackers and then comparing them with man city's attackers (for example) helps whom exactly?

'liverpool don't posses an attacking threat down the right, how do we address that problem?'
'oh, well we go and buy eden hazard'

oh that's fucking GENIUS

I prefer to concentrate on what we HAVE not what we wish we had. we've spent 100m over two transfer windows and even though that money could have been better utilised we still have a half decent squad of players to select a first 11.

my suggestion was to take out lucas (and I'm not blaming lucas, I'm just saying he 'may' not necessarily be what we need right now) and replace him with an attacker, side step the problem of defensive solidity by having more possession of the ball.
this opinion may be 'wrong' but it's a hell of a lot more constructive than 'we're shit' and 'we need better players'.

i'm unconvinced hendo will offer much more going forward in the middle to be honest neil. Hes a player playing without confidence and always looks behind him for a pass. yes he's mobile and his late surges into the box could cause issues, however, i'd be more than happy to try out this little number:

Lucas Adam
Hendo
Maxi Suarez
Carroll

Yes, suarez is out wide nad people will decry "he's wasted out there", but lets be honest, when does suarez ever stay where he's meant to?

Between suarez maxi and hendo we have 3 players who could interchance behind carroll and gives defences a nightmare. If we forced hendo to be central, his array of passing would be utilised and it might force him to come out of his shell. Plus he has a pretty decent right foot.

I'd love to see this team

downing-----hendo----adam----bellamy
-----------suarez---carroll--------------

or

question marks over the defensive solidity but that team would certainly have a lot of possession and take the game to the opposition.

i'm confused by your second team neil.

For me it looks as disgusting as child abuse
That team would get humped Neil. Thats not finding a solution, its ridiculous.
And the reason Ryan and others arent putting forward solutions is because you cant polish a turd. Our players arent good enough, and saying 'Lets replace player x with player y' is fairly fucking pointless.
Ive advocated Maxi as a must start but in reality we just need better players.
