Apparently being moved on from Citeh's squad in january for a knock-down fee. Worth a chance? They'd likely sell to us as we're presently not seen as anything like a threat to them.

A very good central defender who can also fill-in (better than Konchesky) at left-back. He'll feel he's got something to prove after his time at Citeh, but remains a top-level player entering his best years. What's not to like about an 8m deal for him? We could potentially move Agger on for a similar price and better the squad (ie. more decent fit defenders to choose from).

Ha ha - yes Klingon is a good monicker for him but yea, good defender at CB or LB and a real threat at corners.

He was class at everton and not bad as a stand in forward but never did anything at citeh..

£6mill??

For 6m we'd have to be absolutely fucking mental to not be interested.

Nobody is thinking of the wages we would have to offer the bluenose Kingon twat, either.

They would have to be massive.

They'll be generous but I'm not sure they'll necessarily be excessive (for a top-level Prem club anyway). I reckon he'll want to get his career moving again, and he'll know he can't do that if he insists on the silly money Citeh have doubtless been paying him.

As for the high fugliness quotient, I reckon that's appropriate for a defender.

Maybe, but they'll certainly offset what could be a cheap transfer fee. Either way, I don't think they'll sell to us. We may well be shit at the moment, but we will be back up there within a few years and Lescott is young enough to play a part in that.

I could see him going back to Everton.

I'd consider him as a left back for us. Not CB though.
Handy that he could easily fill both slots for us though.

I'd rather have Wilson and Kelly. We need a left back certainly. but not this clown.
Definitely disagree. I actually rate Lescott, he'd be a player who could do well for us either at LB or CB. How much are City prepared to lose on him though is the question.

For the price mentioned we would be insane not to make an offer for him, I couldnt give a fuck that he used to be a bluenose, he was only there for a couple of season and they hate him with a passion now so its not like his loyaties would be compromised. Realistically we are going to have to start rebuilding at the back, the Greek and Carra are going to have to be phased out and Agger is a chronic injury worry leaving Skertl and 2 very young centre backs, we need more cover and the fact Lescott can play at left back makes him ideal

Id still prefer Mertesaker but we should be in the queue for Lescott if available

I'd rather pass. Moyes absolutely took City to the cleaners for the money he ended up getting for an average defender.

He's predominantly right footed though isn't he?

Not a chance mate.

I reckon he's only as good as the CB next to him. Jagielka made him look better than he is. I'd have him, only if he had a solid partner to work with. Ideally one with pace

Lescott's pretty quick
True, but his positional sense isn't great, so to make up for it he needs to be quicker.

I'd take him for around £6m. We really missed the boat when we didn't sign Baines, though. We'd have had left back sorted long ago, and for some time to come.

What's the point?

He's on big money and whilst he's better than one or two currently in our squad, that doesn't make him good enough in the long-term.
