No hassle man. I fly home on the 17th. Not going back til the 5th of Jan I think.

Sound Ry, be good to catch up.

Home on weds 2nd Jan against Sunderland, and the FA cup will be Sat/Sun 5th/6th so we could do a road trip depending on who we get.

Have a think anyway.

No - the forward to play through the middle is more important - we don't have one. We have DM, he's just injured.

Spearing isn't good enough and never will be.

Besides we can't have to people under 4ft in central midfield.

Spearing and Allen are exactly the same height so by your estimations Allen is out too,

I'm gonna bump this cos I'm right.

Anonymous for 2 months now, offers nothing at all.

Is anyone's opinion starting to change yet?

Why did we need to spend 15 million in him? Are we not overloaded in CM?

How many strikers have we got again?

He needs players moving intelligently around him. He can't pass players into good positions, they need to get into good positions.

He was excellent early on and has been a little off form for the last 3-4 games. Not helped by the fact he has been playing constantly without a rest and secondly also not helped by the fact SG has been poor most of the season.

As said above, he needs a DM playing alongside him.

He's not on his own. Everyone in the middle has been playing shit for some time. 'Maybe' Lucas coming back will sort all of them out. It would be nice to have some sort of goal threat from one of the 3. Lucas and Allen are obviously never going to offer that so that need to bloody control and dominate the game if they don't.

I think there is definitely a excellent player there, but he's been very poor the last month. He's giving away the ball too much lately - and today he added stupid ass fouls in dangerous positions to his performance. With him and Gerrard, we're struggling with our middle 3 big time ... Rodgers should drop both.

Allen will get his share of goals when we're able to play him further forward, which is where he's at his best. He's been playing all season in a position which isn't his best because we're short of DMs.

I love how Lucas is God like and will lift everyone around him. The problem is everyone is static in the middle third and I'm not sure you can blame Joe Allen for this.

This is all exactly right.

Our problem is that when players are are experiencing a dip in form, we can't replace them with quality who come in and play well. That's what United have been able to do for years and it makes a huge difference.

I hope you're right mate, but having a quick ganders at his past history on wiki, he's not got a history of scoring goals :s

It is not that he is godlike, it is because his absence has other players having to play out of position. I.E: Allen.

Allen was fucking shit today, again. He showed in the first few games that he's a better footballer than Lucas. But that ain't really saying too much.

He's never been a big scorer, but that's never been his main job. I meant what I said about "his share". He'll set 'em up for others and chip in with the odd one himself.

So far his contribution is close to zero. Against Swansea he gave away a few very dangerous free kicks again. So far chuck Adams would have done better, and he needs to make a fucking stamp on his game.... Out of or in position!
