I'd be happy to help out wherever possible.. My job gives me plenty of spare time to do things.. in fact I think I spend more time on the internet in work than I do actually working..
It's one.of those type of Jobs... I also have my own internet connection, so if you need a helping hand or things testing out feel free to give us a shout...
I've ran websites in the past.. it is amazing how much you raise in terms of donations to improve things a little by loyal forum gooers.. Any donations I ever used to receive went back into improving services we provided..
With that in mind you can expect a healthy donation from me. Let's not piss about with this.. and do it properly... 😉

Thanks Jono. If you don't mind - if and when we set up the new forum - I'd love to have your expertise involved with the look and feel of the new forum. That would be a massive help.

I'd just like to add that the response on this has been fantastic and shows a great community spirit. The offers of donations and help have been overwhelming and are really appreciated by us. I think we should do this.
I'll set up a paypal account for donations in the next week or so (or happy for the posters to nominate another poster to take charge of this if you'd rather this be handled independently of the mods. I want whats received and spent - other than site running costs - to be fully transparent to you guys). Once we do this we'll start work on the new forum - we have well enough space on our current hosting platform . We can then switch over and then we'll work on moving to better hosting facilities.
Will need a little window first in my workload as very busy in work at the moment.

V bulletin is much better than SMF IMHO... much more user friendly.. for both creation and the end user...
A dedicated mobile application is a nice idea.. but heading down the direction of using tapatalk (without server issues) and having a automated mobile web version of the site is probably at first shout is what you should look at first before that..
You could create a subdomain m.sixcrazyminutes.com which if using your iPhone, smartphone, etc etc the site would redirect to the mobile version of the site.. once that is set up and all in place the Application can then be created and based around to call upon the mobile version of the site..
Vbulletin.. has all sorts of scripts and customizations to help you along the way.. and as long as your host supports sub domains (which in this day in age the majority should do..) it shouldn't be too difficult to implement...

I suggest create a sticky with a PayPal donation link.. and modify the homepage to contain a PayPal donation button... which redirects to the thread in question..
